If you still wanted a car you could. We used ME this year but booked a car through Alamo to collect at the WDW dolphin - it was so easy. Just before the end of our holiday we dropped it off there with the valet and enjoyed the last 2 days of our holiday before getting the ME back to the airport.

Thanks for the tip about the Dolphin! I do really want to get a car for part of the trip as my daughter wanted to do one of the beaches, and of course for the shopping! Doing it this way sounds great as I am on my own with the girls and I'm always really nervous about driving to the resort from the airport after travelling for such a long time. It will be nice to relax on the ME and pick the hire car up once I've had a chance to get over the jet lag .
How many days did you rent the car for? and if you could remember how much it cost that would be great! Also did you pre-book it before you left the UK or did you just go to the dolphin and rent from there? (sorry so many Q's)

Sooo glad to hear PO is good, I have always quite fancied this resort, so I was thrilled when I found out it was the cheapest of the mods this year. I didn't have my heart set of OKW, I was just happy to have been given the free upgrade! I have paid to upgrade the dining plan to the standard dining plan, it only cost an extra £4 pp and £1 per child

I was affected by the XL affair. I wasn't due to go until Feb 09 so had time to get things sorted.
Managed to get virtually the same holiday with First choice (who's in branch customer service was second to none). We got Virgin trans flights (excellent long haul service IMO), a Luxury villa and we arrive in FLA earlier AND we're getting 16 nights instead of 14 for only an extra £430
I urge anyone else affected to book something NOW as everything is going fast....good luck

So glad to hear you managed to get sorted too, the reason I originally posted was to let others know that there are still deals out there at the minute that are as good as or in my case even better than with TCD,,, hopefully people won't leave it too long to re-book, as you say everything is going fast!
