ITA. I'm pretty flabergasted that someone who was here 8 years ago would post this. Definitely rewriting history! I remember what 8 years ago was like here. It was awful and the bashing was pretty unavoidable. I think things are pretty mild right now.

We could not point out the flaws in our Country or President. If we did, we were seen as Anti-American by the current Administration and his minions.

I find it fascinating that the people who fell straight in line do nothing but bash the 44th President before he has even taken office. Which Country exactly do you put first?

For all of you with a Right Wing philosophy, get over yourselves, you lost, why don't you show just a little respect to the majority who voted for our President Elect.

For all you conservatives who do not agree with the President Elect based on your own research and not what some crackpot has told you, we can certainly respect your choice.

First of all, expressing yourself when you oppose the President isn't being anti-patriotic. Saying that "he should have done more (bombing)", or "God Damn America", those are unpatriotic. It depends on how it's done.

My DH has been serving his country for 26+ years. He can say whatever he wants about his past, current or future bosses that he wants as far as I'm concerned. He'll always follow his orders, but he is entitled to his opinion and he's worked to be able to voice it. And so you can voice yours. Thank you very much.

I can't believe it took 9 posts for someone to say this! People have been absolutely hateful to Bush. While I am really neither a Bush supporter nor detractor, there's no way he's guilty of all the things people say about him, and lots of people seem to have been snoozing through high school Civics class. People have been incredibly disrespectful to him personally AND to the presidential office. Personally, I think the personal insults have increased because people feel more secure in being overly harsh on the anonymous internet.

Face it, EVERY President gets trashed. Obama should get the same treatment as all the other Presidents.

I don't think the president SHOULD be trashed, but Obama's GOING TO BE trashed just like Bush has been -- perhaps more so because he's facing some serious difficulties, and too many people believe that he president has more authority than he actually has; for example, he can't really do all that much about the economy.
