We could not point out the flaws in our Country or President. If we did, we were seen as Anti-American by the current Administration and his minions.

I find it fascinating that the people who fell straight in line do nothing but bash the 44th President before he has even taken office. Which Country exactly do you put first?

For all of you asking innocent questions, go read the platform.

For all of you with a Right Wing philosophy, get over yourselves, you lost, why don't you show just a little respect to the majority who voted for our President Elect.

For all you conservatives who do not agree with the President Elect based on your own research and not what some crackpot has told you, we can certainly respect your choice.

Who is this "some crackpot" that you speak of?

I know it can't be Al Franken because he doesn't like Bush .

*bites tongue, sits on hands*

I agree. I didn't love Bush but the spite here is just...well...I'm speechless.

Don't engage, it's just a trap to create more hostility amongst everyone.....and to think this election was supposed to bring everyone together.:hippie:

Let me speak for you when I say, the bashing of the President Elect ought to STOP. We didn't bash Bush for 8 years with such hostility. We didn't go into thrashing mode when our Democratic nominees lost, yet, here we are.

Guess what, with a doubled deficit to 11 trillion dollars, 2 wars, and a stock market that is lower than when the anointed President took office 8 years ago, with jobless claims the highest they have been since 1984, well, I can certainly see how the last 8 conservative years have worked oh so well.

I've seen plenty of Bush bashing here. There will be plenty of Obama bashing here. It's business as usual on the CB. If you don't like the threads, don't read 'em ..

You've got to be kidding me, Bush has been bashed more than any president in my life time.

I'm just going to say that I am not anybody's "minion" and that I have never in my life called someone un-American for voicing a criticism. I love this country but do not delude myself that it is or ever was perfect. As for George Bush, I think he is a good man who did the best he could in an unprecedented and very difficult situation. It's easy to say that someone else could have done better, particularly since nobody else had to. God willing, nobody ever will.

I'm sorry, but I don't like your guy. Soon enough, he'll be "my guy" too, whether I like it or not, because he will be my president and I will do my best to respect his position even if I don't respect him personally. But I will reserve my right to dislike him and oppose his positions, and to say so, whether others like it or not.

And frankly, I find it condescending of you to tell other people what to do; as in "go read the platform" :snooty: or "get over it, you lost." Any platform (any party) is a nice set of pretty words, and those words can and should always be questioned and discussed.

I've bashed him for years and WISH someone called me Anti American.

I think it's their term to kvetch, doesn't bother me at all. ;)

I am pretty non-political and I hope Obama does a great job even though I did not vote for him. However, anyone who thinks Bush was not bashed is living in Fantasyland. There was so much hate spewed about him through the years. Starting before he took office, when many screamed about him stealing the election. There was plenty being said about him here. I do think Obama should be given a chance, but I also think all of you taking offense should quit re-writing history.

:thumbsup2

I have no idea what the OP is talking about
Not only have flaws been point out about president Bush but he has been trashed right here on the DIS by many.

As for "go read the platform"...done that and when I point out things in his plan I'm told it must be a typo or something.

:lmao: :rotfl2: ...holy crap, are you kidding making that statement:lmao: ...I'm just counting the 4 years off each day starting 1/20...because the Democrats will do the same thing they did the last time they controlled the White House, Senate and House...raise taxes, cut military spending, increase government, etc, etc...besides there is no need th bash Obama...he's not even going to be the most powerful person in Washington...that wil be Nancy Pelosi.

This administration has never referred to its many critics as anti American. President Bush has not defended himself the way he was more than entitled to. The MSM has been non stop in their exhibition of their Bush Derangement Syndrome, and yet I have never seen them branded as Anti American. I have done my own research on the president elect and he needs to demonstrate to me that past performance, associations and behavior aren't indicative of future behavior.

It is your right to not like him, fine by me. But the innuendo's, the lies, the smears, that are still being spread are outrageous. And yes, when somebody asks a question, why are they asking it on a public message board when it is quite obviously Partisan one way or the other. What answers are they going to get?

As for Bush, he didn't have the best of luck, however, his handling of the situations have been entirely lacking. Torture? This country shouldn't be torturing, sorry. Wire tapping even Service members and their family's??? Really? This is the America we want to be, I'm sorry, but that all sounds pretty un-American to me. Maybe you never personally called people un-American on this board, or IRL, but it's gone on for years should you question one hair about what's been going on. And now here we are, the Republican's lost, particularly the Right Wing and they are quite literally crying foul for all the world to hear. So to them I say, GET OVER IT.

The bold is mine and I find this statement very insightful. Is it country first when only a Republican is President? :confused3 The psychology of supporting only when you've (the general you, not one person) won is quite transparent.

Remember OP, the CB is not a true indicator of how the majority of our country views Obama as our next President. Our man won and in turn so did the United States by electing him. :hippie: :flower3: :woohoo:

That's true. The majority spoke loudly and clearly.

Didn't stop any of you guys, now did it?

Not only are y'all drinking the Kool Aid, I think you're spiking it, too! :rotfl:
