Any preferance between the excursion from OKW or VWL. Right now, I have OKW booked for Oct 5, but am leaning towards changing to Bay Lake. Any imput would be appreciated.

We did a fishing excursion from VWL last year (August 2003) and had a great time. There were 4 of us ( DW, DMIL, DS and self), and everyone caught at least one fish. I would whole heartedly recommend this excursion if you or your family like to fish. I would have recommended it even if no one caught anything, because the boat ride itself was great. Our excursion was cut a little short do to a thunderstorm. They will stay on the water if it rains (the boats have canopies) but as soon as they hear thunder, everyone clears the water.

Don't know about OKW. Did they ever stock that waterway??

DH and I did the fishing excursion....many years ago from the Poly and it was just great!! :Pinkbounc

Do remember that after WDW construction in 71, Disney did stock Bay Lake with fingerling bass. They were wonderful catching on an ultra-lite!!

Im sure you'll have a wonderful time wherever you go !!

Bay Lake is a world class, catch-and-release fishery. It's hosted a number of celebrity fishing events featuring the biggest names in the sport.

I was lucky enough to sneak away from the family last trip and go on a 2 hour excursion out of WL. We used live shiners and the fishing for LMB was wide open. I probably caught 20 fish total with 5 fish over 4lbs. Kept a few of the big ones in the live-well and my guide motored us over infront of MK and took a pic of me holding up two hawgs with Cindy's Castle in the background. Priceless!

My guide was a lady and she was great. She put us on the fish in a number of her secret spots. We caught twice as many fish as the other two guides that had clients that day. Sorry, I don't remember her name but you might ask WDW-PLAY if they still have a female guide.

I took the excursion out of WL and it was great. We lost count of how many fish we caught. Our guide was also a woman and I think her name was Carrie. She brought us to a fishing hole that we did not leave. You would not believe where it is! I can't tell you though, it's a secret.

That does it!, I am calling in the morning and changing my ressie.
Will be just as easy to go to WL for breakfast and then get picked up at that marina. Secret fishing hole? c'mon, I won't tell anyone else.

OK you have my interest and if I can pull this off my hubby will be so surprised! Where do I check out this fishing excursion?:hyper:
We will be going to VWL for first time next June!
Thank you

You can read about it at:

My husband and grandkids went last May - they caught about 30-40 fish. The larger ones were 4-5 pounds. They had a ball.

My husband, son and son-in-law also went on a charter on Lake Toho with "Captain Jack" and caught large mouth bass as large as 15 pounds. One trip they caught 86 fish in 41/2 hours. Not exactly my kind of fun, but they loved it. Sandie

So..................where is that "secret" fishin hole???

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm????????:confused3 :confused3
