Does anyone know if DCL has any arrangement like the MCO for cruises out of PC in NYC? Is so, how does that work? Do they use Disney Cruise Line buses up there? And if they do have any hotels for that purpose, do they allow you to park for the entire week?

Disney cruised out of NYC this past fall and will be there next fall. You can check the DCL website for the exact dates.
As far as I know, you arrange parking and hotel stays on your own. I do not believe in the NYC area there would be any hotels that would allow you to park your car there for free for the week.

We cruised out of NYC only two nights in 2012 and just parked at the port. We are on a 4 night in 2017 and we may park at the port or just take an car (Urber) or have our sons drop us off. We live about 45 minutes from the port.

Even across the river in NJ parking is at a premium for people commuting to NYC.

Good luck. Hopefully someone will chime in with some further advice.

I believe that if you do a hotel through Disney it's the Marriott Marquis in Times Square. You can find hotels for my less money and much closer to the port on your own (I stayed a night at the holiday inn a block from the port). And I think it's just a van (or even town car depending on number of people) that will take you to the port. I'm not sure of all of my facts, but I know that looking into it just quickly it wasn't worth it to me.

I didn't have a car (took the train in) but I'm positive you wouldn't be able to leave your car there (at the hotel) for a week without it being super $$$$!!

If you look at the old threads about cruising from NY, I think there are some folks who stayed at a hotel in NJ and were able to leave their car for the week (with transportation to the port).

Yep! Hilton Garden Inn in Ridgefield Park, NJ has a park, ride and cruise package (look under special offers on their website). It's a nice hotel and a great deal. We paid around $280 for the room, breakfast, parking and a town car to and from the pier. When you consider it is $40 per day to park at the pier, it's a steal. It's not in the city, so it might not be the best choice if you want to spend time in NYC, but if you are just looking for a place to stay and park it's a great choice. When I was researching this, I did notice on Trip Advisor that several reviewers mentioned a bus stop near the hotel that would take you into NYC for sightseeing. Our schedule didn't allow time for this, so I can't confirm that.

Even if you do want to stay and see the city for a few days, a hotel in New Jersey can be a good choice. There are a number of hotels near the PATH trains that go right into the city, fairly cheaply. We grew up in New Jersey and when my sister grew up and moved away, and wanted to come back to NYC for a week a sightseeing, they got a hotel room in a city in New Jersey and took the PATH train in every day. The hotels are still pretty expensive but lots cheaper than comparable ones in NYC. Even if you stay in the city, you are probably going to need to rely on subway trains or taxis to move about during the day anyway. It is too expensive to drive from place to place and pay for parking each time. A hassle too.

If you DO choose to leave your car in a garage in NYC, do yourself a BIG favor and take pictures on your phone of not only the garage entrance, but also the street signs at BOTH corners for your street and the cross streets.

There was a report today that finally after six months a car a tourist parked in a garage and lost was located. The garages pretty much all look the same, and I'm pretty sure they are pretty much all run by the same company.

Thanks everyone for the responses, there's a lot of good into as always.

Sort of an off topic question but didn't want to start a new thread for it - how long does it take from leaving the port, to reaching the Verrazano bridge? I was watching a departure video recently and the sun was noticeably down from the time it left dock to reaching the bridge.

A bit more than an hour.

I will say that when I did it, first dinner started before we got there (though we did see the Statue of Liberty before we wen't down to dinner).

We'll be driving from Boston and are looking to stay there with the cruise package. We'll have two young kids with us - do you have any idea if they have transportation that would have car seats? Not sure how that would work...

Sorry, I don't as it was just my husband and I. The hotel contracts out the transportation to a car service. We were taken to and from the port in a town car, so if the car service has car seats and knows in advance I would imagine it is possible. I recommend calling the hotel directly and asking them before you make your reservation and then maybe touching base again a few days before your arrival as well. When you check in they will ask you when you want to leave and be be picked up and will give you vouchers to "pay" for the car service.

I hope it works out for you. That package really is a great deal and it's a very nice hotel. It's super easy to get to, just off the interstate and in sort of a business park - lots of office buildings. We had no reservations about leaving our car there for the duration of the cruise.

Thanks for this information, I will try giving them a call!

Do we not have anyone here that has done this? I saw a trip video somewhere (youtube I think) where the people stayed at the Marriott Marquis in Times Square and met in the lobby in the morning and there were CM's with Mickey hands guiding them to buses. Is this a question that if I call DCL and ask, they'll know?

That may have been the DVC member cruise last year. They did have pre-cruise hotel offers with transportation to the ship.

Disney did offer a hotel package on our NYC cruise (10/02/16 - regular cruise, not the DVC one). I had called them for something else and just out of curiosity asked about their pre cruise package. I'm almost positive you are correct about it being the Marriott Marquis in Times Square and that it included transportation to the pier. While I don't remember the actual price they quoted me, I distinctly remember both the CM and I having a very good laugh about it. It was pretty ridiculous - even for NYC.
