I can't find any deals on Priceline or Hotwire for next Wednesday 4/21. (Leaving on Thursday) Looking to stay at airport or cocoa beach. Priceline did not accept $39 for 3 stars at MCO. I heard you should have no problem getting this for under $30. Hotwire was double that and so was Cocoa Beach.
Any secrets to a better deal? My time is getting short...

Wow! There must be something going on that week. There's only been one time that I couldn't get something via Priceline, and one time when I had to bid in the high 30's. If you have another email address, clear out your cookies and register with the different address and a different credit card so you can bid again. The highest I've seen is $43, but I don't know if you want to go that high. Sometimes Priceline will give you a counteroffer and tell you what to bid, but that's not real common.
Right now on Hotwire I'm seeing a hotel by the airport for $44 and one by the airport west for $34, but with no shuttle listed. There is a customer favorite for $77 (I wonder if it's the Hyatt, since it also has no shuttle but has lots of amenities, although it's only 3 1/2 stars). There is one for $52 with a shuttle, but that's airport west, and one for $66 that appears to be a suite hotel (probably Amerisuites, but that's high for them).
If I were in your shoes, I'd sign up for Priceline with new info. and try them again. If nothing comes up, I would take a chance on Priceline (but I'd see if "west" could be the bad LaQuinta...I don't know where they are located directionwise). If you are driving, a shuttle is no biggie. If you are taking the DCL bus, you need a shuttle or else you'll pay for a cab both ways. If you are taking a towncar, it might be worth it to spring the few bucks for a cab the night before if you get one of the cheap hotels. Some of them do have shuttles and just don't list 'em.
Good luck!
