??? for bank people

I deposited a couple of checks into my savings account Friday night into the automated teller. Since then, I have realized that I didn't sign them. I'm thinking that it doesn't matter since they were just being deposited and we didn't get any money out. Am I right or do I need to call the bank in the morning?

They can be stamped on the back "for deposit only". IF they even check that, they can do it.

I deposit checks all the time without an endorsement.

Completely depends on what kind of checks they are, who they are made out to, and what the banks individual policy is.

If it was made out to more than one person, everyone needs to sign or it needs to be deposited into an account that both names are on. If it's an insurance check or a state/federal check, those generally need to be signed as well.

One was a rebate check and the other was my husband's paycheck. They were both made out to him and his name is on the account.

I would call just to be on the safe side, but it would be fine at my bank.... but like I said, they can set their own policy. They may require the checks to be signed.

I wouldn't worry about it. They probably just stamped "For Deposit Only" on the back of the check for you.

Bank Manager here - I would call just to make sure. But be aware that depending on the bank's policy - they may not even pull your checks out of the ATM until Monday afternoon. We only check ours after 1:00 pm each business day.
