For anyone who has set up the wireless D-Link at DVC: Help confused

Trying to figure out how to set up wireless connection thru our DVC connection for a mac and a net book but VERY CONFUSED.

Can someone please help me and explain to me how you did it since everyone said it was so easy to set up and thus I am feeling very stupid at the moment that I cannot for the life of me figure it out

I know that this would be the best place to ask for help me since DVC'ers are always so helpful.

Did you set up and configure the router (password an security settings) at home, and if so, did your equipment recognize it? If so, you should be able to just plug it in and have it work.

If it is a new router, you'll need to plug it in, then plug one of the computers into the back of it, and configure it using the disc that was included with it.

Thank you for reply. We tried setting up yesterday (we leave in a week) but apple laptop does not recognize the instruction disc and the second computer we are taking is a netbook that does not have a disc drive.

Any tips would be much appreciated. I went to dlink support and not too helpful.......

If you need to install software for the router, try googling it - it is probably available online for download. That should work around both the non-Mac disk and the disk drive-free netbook.

Make sure that you set up your security settings correctly. Failure to do so could allow other people to access your connection and possibility, your computers.

You should only have to set it up from one computer. I brought my router and laptop from home, so my laptop was already configured for it. It connected right to it when I got to BWV, I just had to plug the cable into the router. My friend then did a signal search from her laptop, found my router name, I gave her my password and she connected right to it.
