Just saw this on the Orlando Sentinel site worth reading if your thinking of buying a house or retiring.
Carol Thornley lives off the southern coast of England, and like thousands of her fellow Britons, she planned to spend a chunk of her retirement in Florida, a state she's visited 38 times in the past five years.
But today, Thornley is considering selling the $58,000 retirement home she and her sister bought in May near Kissimmee. The reason: a combination of new restrictions on U.S. visas and Florida drivers licenses. Although the restrictions are intended to fight terrorism, they have left her feeling unwanted and angry.
The raft of new rules has created a domino effect that ultimately makes it difficult for non-U.S. citizens to maintain a drivers license and therefore cash checks, get insurance, open a bank account or prove they are over 21.
