Does anyone know WHAT HAPPENED TO THE RAINFOREST CAFE AT FRANKLIN MILLS??

We usually go a couple of weeks before our WDW trips to kind of just 'get in the mood' before disney. ( We did not go last year ,however)

We went last sunday and it wasn't there!! Very upset because we live an hour away and being a Sunday, we couldn't walk the mall or anything!!

Does anyone know when it closed or why?? I checked the websight but no info there. My guess is that the location might have been wrong. I always thought they should have put it in the area of King of Prussia or center city.

Thanks to anyone who has the scoop!

The restaurant closed a long time ago, maybe two years ago.

I agree King of Prussia, or even Cherry Hill NJ would have been a better location.

I think they cited poor performance.

I'm pretty sure that's been closed for quite a while.

I also enjoyed Rainforest, but Franklin Mills is definitely NOT the place for it. In recent years, that mall has gotten so bad that I dare not go near it at night. No wonder the restaurant closed.

I agree that Cherry Hill would be a great place, like right along route 38 or 73. I bet they would do a booming business!!

Yikes! I didn't know that things had gotten more dangerous around FMM, although, I've always known that you have to be careful around there. I was there last Wednesday night and found the mall to be a very good shoe source.

I was surprised at how busy the Outback was on Street Rd, though... for a Wednesday, around 8:00.... there was still a 20-30 minute wait.

Yes, Franklin Mills has gotten really bad in the past few years. Very sad, because I remember when it was first built & alot of fun to visit. During the week, it might not be too bad at night, but forget about the weekends.

The Outback on Street Road is really close to where I work....it's ALWAYS crowded :D .

We were at training in Cherry Hill last week. We got out early on Wednesday and decided to go to FMM. I realized on the way there that the last time I was there was about 7 years ago, when my brother got married. How time flies!

its been closed awhile, we even had a DIS meet there once! I also had my first date with my BF there. I miss it!!

Franklin Mills has attracted a certain kind of crowd that is kind of shady. I only go to certain stores- like Penneys and Pier 1, and I eat at Don Pablos a lot.

If you are looking for fun and games though- Jillians is a good place for that. It has food, bowling, pool, dancing and arcade games.

RUDisney, if you know where Neshaminy Mall is, there's a good new steakhouse there called Longhorn Steakhouse. It has a really cool western atmosphere inside and the food is good.

Hi, Panfan. Don't know about Rainforest, but I grew up in Media!!! My parents moved more towards Delaware, so I haven't been there in a while. (Except to the Town House for a class reunion.)

Hey Clutter,

My DH's family ALWAYS goes to the Media Town House for all of their special occasions (First Communion, Confirmation, my DH's brother's wedding reception!). Isn't it great there? My DH's parents and one sister live in Springfield, his one sister lives in Drexel Hill and his one brother lives in Sewell, NJ.

Small world...:D

YES YOU GUYS ARE CORRECT. THE RAINFOREST AT THE MILLS CLOSED ABOUT TWO YEARS AGO. I DO ALOT OF TRAVELLING IN THE AREA AND THERE USED TO BE ANOTHER RAINFOREST CAFE IN JERSEY GARDENS MALL WHICH IS OFF EXIT 13A NJ TURNPIKE. THIS LOCATION ALSO HAS CLOSED. IT WAS REALLY NICE.. SAME SET UP AS THE MILLS. THIS LOCATION WAS ONLY OPEN FOR ABOUT A YEAR AS THAT MALL IS RELATIVELY NEW. TO BE HONEST, I THOUGHT THE COMPANY WENT OUT OF BUSINESS TOTALLY. GLAD TO HERE THERE IS ONE IN WDW.
