? for any UK citizens who've been on DCL recently

Hope you don't mind me visiting this forum to ask a quick question. Can you tell me if you have cruised with Disney recently from Port Canaveral, and had to report as a non-US citizen very early in the morning onboard...did they "scan" your passport or just look at it and ask questions? I appreciate your replies. Thank you!

Hi there

We Cruised in January '07 and when you check in at the DCL terminal they take your passport. If you haven't got any other photographic ID then they will photocopy your passport and you will use the copies whenever you get off the ship

On the last morning (at 6am ) you attend Immigration, where they will return your passport to you.

Hi,
We cruised last Xmas and the Immigration inspector just checked the green visa waiver stub and the stamp on the passport. They did not "scan" it as they have no computers on the ship. The same thing happened at both St Thomas and Port Canaveral.

Yep, we were similar. They took our passports on arrival, then on the last day we had to get up about 5am to go to the Disney theatre and meet the customs inspectors.

They served up coffee and bagels at the entrance and we then sat in the theatre until it was our turn to go to the front, where they asked a couple of questions and stamped our passport. We were in and out in about half an hour and had breakfast before disembarking. Was less dramatic than i thought it would be, although i would have prefered to have stayed in bed!!

But in a funny way it was nice that we got up early and had that last bit of time to enjoy the ship (thats how we justified the early rise anyway!). We slept on the way back to Orlando though!!

Cant understand why they do this, its the worst thing about DCL.
We did RCCL last year instead of Disney. They give you your passports back evening before you disembark then get up a reasonable time for breakfast and then get off and go thru immigration in the port not on the ship, seperate line for non US citizens. Was a lot easier than Disney.
I think its going to be RCCL again this Aug, Disney prices are crazy again. I can get outside cabin for half price of inside cabin with disney.

Everyone has to be there. Most kids were still in night clothes last time we went.

Agree Princess was the same officers got on the last port of call and did this on the last evening far better.

This is the only thing I'm not looking forward to about our cruise!

Partly because we'll have to get up early but mostly because we'll have to get off the boat and go home!

It was not just kids either
one family in front of us had the DCL white dressing growns on and slippers

we were one of the lucky ones
we were on the cruise the night the clocks went back and were really lucky that when we got to port Orleans our room was ready @ 10 am just in time for our 40 winks

If it hasn't changed since our last DCL cruise you start getting off around 8am everyone has to be off by around 9am. So no you dont have time, especially if you want to get your last breakfast.
