I read in the UG that Dinosaur had been 'cranked up a couple of noches' recently! Another guide book suggests that the ride has been toned down to make it more family friendly. A fair few people on various boards have said Disney haven't touched it all!

Has anyone who has ridden a few times got anything to say on this?

I'd let you know in a few days, but it's closed for refurbishment

:sad1:

I do know that when it first opened (then Countdown to Extinction) it had a 48 inch height requirement. Now, it (under new name) it has a 40 inch height requirement. That seems to indicate it being toned down. We've only been since the requirement was lowered, so I'm not sure about changes.

We will be there in June when it reopens, so I'll report about any changes!

I love Dinosaur, but it was much better when it was "Countdown to Extinction." Originally, you felt like you were floating in space after a much more intense "launch" of the vehicle, and the whole asteroid close encounter was more thrilling.

I am a ride chicken, but this is one of my favorites.

I am just glad DD can ride it now. She is ready but will be 21 before she hits 48 inches tall!;) She just can't wait!

LOL! This sounds like the "which side of space mountain is wilder?" debate!

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE dinosaur. The last time i was on it was October 2003, and as far as I could tell it was as scary as it had been the first time I rode it as Countdown.
