I know many of you take a lysol spray to your hotel rooms before you settle in, and I plan to do the same, but what about the beds? Is there anything out there I can spray on sheets and pillow cases?

Thanks

Not sure how much it helps, but I use Febreeze Antibacterial on all of the soft surfaces of the room. (Carpet, curtains, bedding) Now everytime I spray Febreeze at home it reminds me of Disney. :rotfl:

ok, I am going to admit I am gonna hijack this topic...

how many of you would buy, en mass, a lysol/febreeze in a bug bomb like can. ya know one that you can set in the room, snap it on, leave... and the can runs out while you are gone? so that it mists the whole room... ya know like a bug bomb cept with smell good and a light antibacterial?

I actually have something like that but I've never tried it. I bring Lysol in my checked luggage and spray the beds too.

something like that... what is it and where did ya get it? Cause you'll make me a much happier person if I can germ bomb a hotel room.

For the past five years I have traveled for work and I always bring lysol with me when I check into the hotel. I usually spray everything down, the bed, the door handles, the faucets etc... It just makes me feel a little better when I go to sleep at night to know that it is clean.

when I first read the title of this thread I thought to myself "oh come on! give it a break already!" but the more I read the more I'm thinking to myself "what a great idea... I'm totally going to pack that!" better yet... we're staying with his best friend's (cast member) place the night before so I'll make him get me some so I don't have to pack it!

I got it from HSN a while back. It was on clearance like 2 for 1. I just haven't gotten around to trying it. My trusty Lysol has taken care of my germaphope needs at this point!;)

Oh, what is this bomb spray? I really need it. I bring Clorox wipes to do the bathroom surfaces each day, but the comforters gross me out. I always ask for a complete change of bedding when I check in ( but you just never know, if you know what I mean)! The hardest thing for me is the fact that my DH is not only not a germphobe, but, frankly, a slob! He'd lick the floor if I dared him to.

Well I usually request that there are no comforters on the bed when I check in. I deal with health issues so I have to be extreme but frankly I am a germaphobe anyway!

Here are some tips. Ask to have the comforters removed before your arrival. Pick up a couple flat sheets at walmart ( a twin flat sheet is fine even on a double its big enough) . They are like 3.00. Throw those over the existing sheets on the bed.

I buy space bags ( most stores sell these now) and pack a few blankets in one and suck all the air out so it wont take up any room. You could do this with pillows as well if you wanted. They puff right back up when you unseal the baq.

If you have any allergies I noticed on Disney site the other day that you can request a VIP cleaning. I think this is great for people with severe situations.

I also like clorex anywhere spray because it disinfects safely without a lot of chemicals . You can use it next to food even. And the smell of lysol gets to me after a while. This has no odor.

I always say that the people that get a room after me should thank me! lol By the time they check in I have throughly scrubbed the room !

Since this is really more about your resort room than ThemeParks, I'm moving this one of to the Resorts Board, where it's a better topical fit.

Thanks,

Knx

Can you tell me more about the VIP cleaning? My allergies are awful!! I would love to have the room super cleaned to help me not get sick.

Thank you, thank you. For the first time ever I took a can of Lysol on the trip with me. Packed it in the suitcase, had no problem. We had three rooms and my kids thought I was nuts. I also kept a travel size with me at the park, and hand sanitizer hanging on my bag. My granddaughter is almost 4, and I kept trying to take her to the bathroom at the parks. I sprayed and lined the seats(my daughter does not!) It was our little secret, and Mommy still has no clue! I just felt better spraying the bathroom tub, fixtures, bed, etc. I even sprayed the carpet before we left the a couple of times. Said I had to go back to the room because I forgot something. From now on Lysol will go on all trips with me!!

Just ask for it when you book your room and explain why. I have severe allergies and a immune disease so must be very careful. Special needs can take care of this for you.

We request all linen changed, but not until we arrive in the room - we call housekeeping, explain the need and wait there until housekeeping changes the bedding - this way I know it's really fresh and completely changed.

I've not taken Lysol in checked luggage because did not think aerosols are allowed due to the flammable issue...but I really like the idea of the Clorox Anywhere! I usually go over the room with lysol spray (it is awful) and lysol wipes, but the spray requires being able to get to a store, which is not always possible, so the Clorox Anyway is the answer..and it's not an aerosol!! :cool1:

Clorox Anywhere only kills bacteria, not viruses. That's why I prefer Lysol-it's anti-viral. I've taken it on several trips, even twice to Europe, and never had a problem. I also bring Lysol wipes in a ziplock bag to clean the sink.
The fogger spray is called Sani Guard. I don't know if you can still get it.

Not a germaphobe, but have to ask, isn't there a chance that such a disinfectant bomb could set of the smoke alarm/sprinklers, particularly in the close quarters of a hotel room? Just curious.
