May the joy and blessings of the Pesach be with you, your families and friends throughout the year. May your Sedars recall the past and traditions, and may we all know peace in our generation throughout all the world. G-d bless.

thanks Dan.. please come and join us for our family sedar..

As a practicing Episcopalian, I have to say that one of my favorite rites is our Passover seder. I realize that we probably don't do it all perfectly but it is still quite moving. Passover is one of my all time favorite Bible stories. So, let me wish all of you a wonderful Passover.

we do our service mostly in English, with occasional Hebrew and Aramaic thrown in.

my favorite part is singing Dayeinu.

We are going tonight to a friend's Seder. It's will be Sam's 1st!

Do you do something special every night of Passover or just some of them? The Jewish people here at work never seem to miss a day of work for Passover...is it a "taking off work" kind of holiday for the truly observant?

I once had an emplyer tell me "you don't have to take off for Passover". the employer was Jewish, but not very observant.

the central celebration for Passover is the Seder, which takes place in the evening, usually at someone's home. those who are more observant, however, will refrain from work during the first tow days of the holiday and the last two days of the holiday. usually the very observant take vacation Passover week, although work is not forbidden during the week.

during the week of Passover the observant will refrain from eating bread or any food made with leavening.

Thanks, Briar. I am working on a deal here at work with a Jewish guy. Last week he mentioned several times that he would be out of the office Monday (today) and Tuesday, but didn't ever say where he would be. I figured that he was going to be observing Passover with his family, but didn't want to mention it since I'm not Jewish...Turns out that he's at a golf tournament!!!
