Could you please STOP posting about your add-ons???? :p :p :p We've made a "mutual" decision not to add points right now, but we're both thinking we'd like another 100 points or so. Reading about all of these add-ons is making it harder to resist. I never knew I could be so jealous about the good fortune of others!

Auburn University wants our money this fall, and dd won't buy the idea of skipping college and working as a CM, so we'll probably wait until '04 to add on. Of course, there are always scholarships out there....

I don't want to add on...

I don't want to add on...

I don't want to add on...

Just keep saying it to yourself...maybe it will work, but probably not;)

Someday, after Auburn gets their substantial chunk of your life savings, you will find yourself saying "Now's the time!" and the clouds will part and you, too, will do the add-on happy dance:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

Until then, know that we are sharing our joy, not rubbing it in, so try to keep the angry green envy monster from ruining your day!

Hope you and you smart dd (you must be so proud) do have a nice day!:D

Renee

I hear you. I am so jealous that I can't add on right now. Unfortunately all the windows in my house had to be replaced in January - we got a good deal on the class action lawsuit we were a part of, but I could have bought a whole new contract for what I am paying for these windows.:(

Oh well, maybe next year or so. I feel your pain - the waiting is going to be hard.

LOL, I know, and I really DO enjoy reading the posts. We already have 300 points, it's just the "greed thing" that makes us want to add. This is definitely a "want" and not a "need".

We are definitely proud of dd, and excited that she'll be leaving for college in the fall. She's majoring in biology, and plans to get her degree in Zoology. She's hoping to spend a semester working at Animal Kingdom in the WDWCP.

Of course you should add on! BCV is available now. It might not be soon. How about that $69 MB purchase at VB? That can't last for ever. Points will probably get more expensive when BCV sells out. YOU NEED TO ADD ON! :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

zulaya: I can share your pain about replacing windows. We are in the process of deciding on windows now and unfortunately our house is not very old but we just have poor windows. I know this is off topic but what brand did you choose?
Also my 3 1/2 yr old Windstar is now called the Lemonstar!
I would love to add on but it just isn't in my future right now.
Maybe someday...

JUST IGNORE THEM

DArn it didnt' work.....

I WANT MORE POINTS!!!!

Let me preface this with....I do not work for DVC or Disney or any of it's subsidiaries, but I must say............
For all the BWV lovers out there, the new release of the BWV pts is really something I never thought would come about!!!!!!!!!! I was on a waitlist for more BWV pts but I never in my wildest dreams imagined this many pts going up for sale in all use yrs AND with magical beginnings! It is like a gift. With the interest rates at an all time low and the stock market not at it's best, this is a very good time to move some money around and take advantage of available pts at a resort that will never again have this many pts for sale in all use yrs; let alone at this price and with a discount!

You could always rent out your current points to help pay for some add-on points......

Just a tempting thought...

So who has current points they can rent? That's why we want to add on! Nisimouse, I just traded in a 2000 Windstar, is that what you have? Just decided it wasn't going to make it for the long haul, and went for Toyota's 2.9% financing on a Camry. My DH is a remodeling contractor, he swears by Pella. Diana

I also want to add on sooooooo bad!!! My DH and I talked about it and he made me see reason, now is not the time. We need to keep adding to the savings side, not to the debt side :( We have borrowed points two years in a row, so I really wanted to add on when I read the news about BWV. Plus, I recently realized my 150 BCV points would not get me a 2 br in May with out using more than 2 yrs of points :( I have realized that I want my May trips to be at BCV (for the pool) and the Dec trips at BVW. But for now, we will have to do the oppisite.
Also, I definetly do not have current points to rent! I have plans for all my points thru the end of 2005!!!

Dancind: I do have a 2000 Windstar and have had sooo many problems. My dh is nervous about other potential problems after doing some reading on the internet so we are going to unload it for a Toyota as soon as we can. We are deciding between Andersen and Pella for the windows. Unfortunately we have so many windows we may have to do the front of the house this year and the back next year. I may pm you with a couple of window questions for your dh later if you don't mind.

Sorry about the hijack, folks. Nisiemouse, PM away! I would be happy to relay my DH's opinions on this. We did our windows in stages too. Diana

i'M NEW TO THE VACATION CLUB FORUM. HOW MUCH DOES AN ADD-ON COST AND HOW MANY POINTS IS THE MINUMUM YOU CAN ADD ON?

Hi dixie6,
Welcome to the forum! Add-ons are $84/point without Magical Beginnings; $74/points with Magical Beginnings (you have to add-on at least 100 points to take advantage of Magical Beginnings). The minimum add-on through Disney is 25 points. Also, you can only add-on if you already have an existing DVC contract.

I too have looked at add on posts for a while now and this time...we couldn't wait any longer....

Luckily...although our son is graduating and going to a new school in the fall...it's graduating from pre-school and entering kindergarden...not quite the same financial burden ;)

In any event...:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

Congrats to your daughter, Auburn is a fine school!

I wrestled with my wife over the add-on at the Beach Club.
I won and added 125 points which brings me to 500. I took advantage of the magical beginning, used my tax refund check for the balance of the down payment and borrow from Disney at 9.75%. One thing that I have learned from life-"You have to do it while you still can". The extra $107 a month cost will be found. I am now planning a Disney Cruise, in December and 9 days at the Beach Club in February. Buy the points and figure out the rest!!!

This is the technique I'm using on my husband:

I think I may have FINALLY pushed his last button: His response now is, "Do what you gotta do!"

We are looking to buy DVC and wanted to get your personal experiences. Any negatives, for example, any difficulty reserving a room when you need?
