I spoke to my guide and he said the promo is that the developer matches pt per pt for this month. I am assuming that this is just for this year right? And not the lifetime of the ownership. DH thought maybe I misheard all together.

You get one time developer points equal to the number of points you are buying at AKV or get $8 off per point. We bought 165 AKV points so we get 165 developer points. You do not get developer points in future years. The key is that the developer points must be used with in 7 months. I was able use my developer points on an existing reservation and then free up some normal points which I can now bank. Good luck.

Remember, it's Developer points OR the $8.00 off per point. According to my guide, the majority of buyers are taking the $8.00/point incentive.

Most likely this is because the developer points must be used right away, cannot be banked, and expire if not used.

However if one can use the developer points, it's like getting them for $8.00 each, which is way below what points generally 'rent' for on things like the Rent/Trade board.

Just a questions about the 7 months from contract signing to use the Developer's Points.... Why wouldn't it be 7 months from availability to reserve AKV? Since reservations at AKV start September 1, it seems that would be a logical date. Of course, DVC might be hoping you use the points at other resorts?
