keeping in mind the <font color="blue">AAA discount of 15%</font color> off room rate and <font color="blue">value season</font color>.. would be your choice resort, and what view??

This is our absolute highest budget for room rate, the occation being our honeymoon... and we are having a hard time deciding...

some choices we've come up with.. opinions?

<font color="deeppink">POFQ - king room with water view</font color>
<font color="green">WL - courtyard view</font color>
<font color="crimson">AKL - savannah view</font color>
<font color="teal">YC/BC/BWI - standard view</font color>

I booked the BWI for July (Value season) with the AAA discount. The standard room came to $273. This is an adult only trip so we thought this would be a great place due to all the activity going on. We plan on going to Jellyrolls and Atlantic Dance Hall quite a bit.

My vote would be YC/BC Standard View. Just be sure to mention that it's your honeymoon when you make your reservation...you never know what they might do.

If a great code comes out (keep your eye on this Board or Mousesavers)...you could probably even get the GF Standard view for less than $289 (we paid $229 in 2002). Congratulations. :)

If I were you I would buy one annual pass and wait for the annual pass rates and then book (in value season) something like the Polynesian concierge gardenview for $239 plus tax or even a regular gardenview for $179 plus tax. You could always book a room only with the AAA discount if you decide you absolutely want to stay at one resort only and then when the ap rates come out (a couple of months usually before you go) switch the reservation to the ap rate (if that room is available with the ap rate) or come up with a couple of 2nd and 3rd choices and switch to them with the ap rates at that time. You can check out historical rates in the past and when they came out on www.mousesavers.com to give you an idea of cost.
With a room only reservation you can cancel or change your reservation up to 5 days before you go without penalty and it requires a one night deposit when booked.
On a package deal (room and tickets) you are required to pay a $200.00 deposit and pay the balance in full 45 days before you go. Congrats.

I'm honeymooning in September of this year (also value season) and I got the Beach Club for $274/night and the Polynesian for $284/night. Both of those include all taxes, so you could probably pick any of the deluxes. The Beach Club is a standard view, and the Polynesian is a garden view, but hey - for that cheap, I'm not worried about it. :)

Have a fantastic trip, and congratulations!!! :)

Hey Dan.. may I ask, who did you book those prices through???

I'm sorry Amber! I thought I mentioned! Those ARE the AAA rates! Good luck, and have a fantastic honeymoon!

Amber, I'm sorry I can't help you with your questions...but I just wanted to say that "Great Pix!" and...CONGRATULATIONS!! Have a wonderful time!!

YC/BC is very romantic and we think great with couples w/o kids. You'll love the short walk to World Showcase. Lots of dining options and the boardwalk area is quite romantic and beautiful at night.

$289 is the rack rate for value season, I think. You could probably do better than a AAA discount of 15% by either watching these boards or mousesavers.com for a room only code OR consider an annual pass. If you're going 8+ days in a year's time, it pays for itself and you get good discounts. For instance, we just returned from the Poly (2/9 - 2/16). We paid $179 per night.

You're smart to honeymoon at WDW. We did and it was the best.

I would choose the BWI standard view. You may be able to get a view of World Showcase and Illuminations (we did). Have fun planning your honeymoon!!

We have found that we save enough using the AP codes to pay for the extra cost of the AP in one night stay at a deluxe! During value season we have gotten deluxe resorts at great prices:
GF Garden View $199
AKL Savannah View $150
WL Standard View $125

In peak season we are paying $312 +tax for Lagoon View at the Poly. I would imagine you could get a rate much cheaper in value season. As others have mentioned, check out mousesavers.com and don't shy away from AP's, you do not have to own the AP when you reserve the room just by the time you check in. This way you do not have to buy the AP unless you end up getting a room using the AP code.

I love the different resorts for different reasons. I think I would like the YC for my honeymoon, but I think GF would be great too with a great rate. We loved the theming of the WL and AKL, too. It really just depends on what you are looking for. The AKL felt quiet and cozy to us.

Personally I would go for either POFQ or AKL or YC for you. I like to experience different places, and I see that you have already been to WL (me too! loved it!), so I think out of the others, I would probably choose AKL savanah view or maybe YC they would probably do something special. Also it will be magical anywhere you stay you are going to Disney!! :) Where'd you find a guy that will do that I always seem to find the ones that are like no way! You've been there enough. Ugh.

Hope that helps.

Congrats!!

Amber - how long will you be there? The biggest mistake we made on our honeymoon was not buying annual passes to save on the room rate. We honeymooned at the Grand Floridian and it is always my top choice (but we haven't been able to stay there since :( ).

Definitely go for the annual pass then, The break even point is 8 days so if you go back any time within the next 365 days (first anniversary maybe?) you'll be better off and will save on the room.

I am wondering where you can get your AP at. If you need to show your AP to get the special rate, do you need to go to one of the parks first to get the pass?

You don't need an annual pass to reserve a room at the annual pass rate.

The official Disney policy is that you need an activated AP at checkin. The following places will sell you a voucher (which means that you have to activate it before you can use it):

Any Disney Store
Disneyworld.com

The following places will sell you an activated Annual Pass:

The Disney Information Center in Ocala
The Earport Disney Store at Orlando International Airport
Any Disneyworld ticket window
Guest Services (except at the Disney resorts)
