For 2 adults: Swan or BC for $200.00 more?

DH and I are headed to WDW for my 40th birthday in a month. We currently have the nurses discount at the Swan . Now they've come out with these new codes and for about $200.00 more , we could stay at the Beach Club. Which would you pick? When I figured out the price difference, it already includes the free ME versus us paying for a limo to the Swan. And we wouldn't use the dining plan either way, so thats not a factor. Opions please.

Swan is my fav resort, but if you haven't stayed at the BC yet, go for it! The nurses discount will be there next time you go, but you may not get the same price for the BC again!

The Swan hands down! Two adults, a heavenly bed, no kids. Yep, the Swan!

Have a happy birthday!

How long are you staying? If it's just a couple of nights, I'd take the Swan. That $200 could pay for some nice 'couples' experiences such as really good room service or spa services at the Swan!! The Swan is about an equal walk to Epcot or MGM, or equal distance by boat. Beach Club is closer to Epcot, but a long hike to MGM. Also, it's easier to get the Boardwalk shoppes on the way to/from Epcot when staying at the Swan. Our favorite experience is a stop at Boardwalk Bakery on the way home.

The Swan rooms are also much more comfortable than Beach Club. Doesn't Magical Express cover the Swan/Dolphin?

Swan and Dolphin don't participate in Magical Express, so that makes the cost less than $100 difference to stay at the Beach Club. I would stay at the Beach Club to try something different, like above poster said you could get nurses discount next time.

My husband and I had our first ever, adult only trip to WDW last May. We stayed at the Swan and had such fun!

I like the BC for it's pool, but that is about it. The pool is fun for kids especially, so if I were you, I would do BC some time with your kids. We have never had good service there and it just is not one of my favorites. Nothing outstanding - except the pool.

We had a great time at the Swan! Great room, great bed, great view, great service......

Happy planning & Happy 40th!

If I understand the OP, she already took into account the cost of a limo vs free Magical Express.

I love tha Swan, and will check-in in 5 days!

Yeah, in that case I'd probably choose BC, too. :-)

I've never stayed at the Swan, but (please don't flame, just an opinion), I did not care for the BC/YC and will never stay there again. If the choice were between the BWI and Swan for $200, I'd say go for the BWI, which I think is great. But I simply do not understand the desirability of the YC and BC. To each his own, I guess.
