The ferry is a way to break up the northeast I95 part of the drive, Its something differant I think my dd and dw might enjoy.
Unless its just me in the car, I advoid the staight shot down I-95 to dc
It is a nice scenic drive down that way, I'm just thinking about how much time it'll eat up, the risk of inclement weather reducing the number of ferries, etc. You may want to see if you can determine in advance before you head down to Cape May that things are operating normally, I'm sure there's a hotline to call.

Most of the tips on this thread seem to be from Northeast drivers, and the little bit I can find on 75 drivers I can't find now that I'm looking!
) and arrive (if all goes well) about 1 am (that's 3 1/2 hours of breaks...I don't even know if that's realistic!). We're staying offsite this trip and it's not much more to add that night. His line of thinking is that he can do the bulk of the driving, and then I can take over after we pass through Atlanta.
But I had several books on CD ready for him.
