Hi guys just wondering if any I-75 drivers know of any Costco's (with a gas station) right off the 75 freeway? TIA!

We have decided that we will be returning back to Disney the week after thanksgiving and will be driving down from Boston. 2 Adults and 2 Kids (3 and 7). Normally I wouldnt mind the drive, but I am a bit nervous about driving through any snow storms. 2009 brought a TON of snow to DC and the surronding Areas right around thanksgiving and the weeks following. For anyone who has dirven from Boston this time of year, should I be worried about snow or horrible weather to deal with??

We drove from NH last February and left the day before the big storm in VA/DC. We had to leave 24 hours ahead of time and luckily my husband could take the extra day at the last minute. We drove 24 hours straight and then stopped when the rain storms in GA got too bad. But we managed to miss the snow part of the storm going down and had an extra day at WDW.

The biggest problem was I had no idea a big storm was headed to the mid Atlantic states. I was checking weather channel online and saw nothing there or elsewhere to indicate a large storm. I just happened to be on disboards and somehow our drive came up. A couple of people warned me I better leave NOW or I would not make it. So it worked out. We might have ended up in the middle of it all.

I think the time of year you are driving will not be so bad. Those big storms were very unique. My advice would be to find a better source for your weather then just weather.com And just keep an eye on things. Having some flexibility on when you leave and return would also be a good idea. That way if something does happen you can easily deal with it.

After last year we have planned our next 3 trips for October/November

The first large snow storm didn't happen until the week before Christmas. We actually left 2 days before we got almost a foot of snow at home. Kids were not happpy since we normally never get snow but little did they know they would be getting 3 feet of the lovely stuff later in the winter. Last year was an odd year for snow fall. I think late Nov/early Dec should be good. Just watch the weather forcasts like a hawk and check these boards!!! At the worst be prepared to maybe leave a day earlier.

Deciding whether to leave at 3-4am, putting us in DC by 8 or 9am or maybe it would be better to leave a little later (between 5 and 7am) and make sure we miss rush hour.

I would love to leave in the middle of the night, but my husband has sleep apnea and he needs sleep in his bed in order to help with the driving. We plan on staying over in NC or SC and continuing to Disney the next day.

I would think you would be better off leaving later and missing rush hour, if you get to DC at 8 or 9 am it's not going to be pretty! Have a great trip!

we drive down in the winter months and we just watch weather forcast and drive before or after it. as long its not a 3 footer, it dont take long to clear the interstates after a storm. we drive straight thru on the way home, in 07 we stopped in s.carolina over night to wait for an ice storm in the northeast. its also a good idea to call family or a friend to have them give you the local weather a few days before you head home.

The 30th is on a Saturday, right? There is still a rush hour on a Saturday on 95? I leave on the 29th so I am anticipating running into one State's rush hour on my day. DH decided that we're leaving after our rush hours are over and that's around 7:30pm...we're coming from Jersey (10 mins from Manhattan).

We are driving from Houston and my brother is driving from Ft Worth (Burleson). If you happen to stay the night somewhere off I-10 on the way back home, would you mind cluing me in. I just cannot seem to find a place. HELP!!! We are thinking about somewhere in Alabama...Mobile?

On our way to WDW we are driving most of the way the first day and staying in Tallahassee. This way we only have about four hours left to drive.

I commented on there, but man some of the posters were very critical of us drivers. I like this thread much better. The time people have on their hands to quote airfare from our home towns and break down the costs of flying versus driving.

My family of 6 could literally cost me $2,000.00 just to fly. No thank you!

Gas here is "on sale" today for $2.92. UGH! Hope the lower prices hold into August in Florida!
