We went 95 the whole way except we went over the Cuomo bridge (former Tappan Zee) instead of the George Washington. Plymouth is so nice but I bet Winter Garden is nicer especially in the winter!

For us, we have 5 kids. When they were young and all traveled with us, the cost to fly 7 people to Disney was crazy high...usually over $2,000 not including parking fees. We could drive for under $1,000 including hotel stays, food, gas, tolls, etc. Now we only have 1 or 2 kids who travel with us and they're adults (college student and recent grad) so if we wanted to fly, we could just pay for their tickets -- but we still drive. We like being in control of the trip; enjoy the adventure; and like being able to pack as much as we need and not how much fits in a certain size suitcase and doesn't go over a weight limit. We love a good road trip to anywhere. If we're going somewhere in this country or Canada, we're probably driving. There's so much to see along the way to anywhere. It helps that my husband has 6 weeks of vacation a year and I don't work outside the home, so taking the extra time to drive doesn't really eat into our vacation time at all (we stay at Disney 7 or 8 nights -- same as if we would fly) and we consider the drive part of the vacation. I know driving 2,000 miles doesn't work for everyone, but based on the number of people who post on this thread, it obviously works for a lot of people.

We drive and still have lots of vacation days.
We fly as well but never Spirit/Frontier.
This trip we left last Thursday night got in Friday after noon. We drive home the following Saturday. If we wanted we had 7 park days not that we would ever do that. We’re at the beach today.

I drive there five days a week. lol. The worst part is every time I leave the park, I drive home.
I did make reservations in June for five nights in a cabin at Copper Creek. We stayed in a bungalow at the Poly last year so I figured we’ll try the cabins.
It was our 40th wedding anniversary on March 9th and I had to work.
Nothing like camping in your backyard where you work. lol.

Departed southeastern Mass at 2:30 am yesterday morning. Stopped twice for gas and restrooms. Arrived in Santee, SC at 4:50 pm. Smooth sailing the entire way. We considered continuing on but decided to stop for the night. Left the hotel at 7:40 this morning. Stopping for lunch in St. Augustine then on to Disney Springs! Best travel days ever!

We are on the road home to MA. Lots of traffic in GA and SC already. Probably won’t make as good time as the drive down.
