:thumbsup2 im just looking forward to getting back home! lets see..... here are our adrs, remember, im a meat and potatoes person....... the more the better.:lmao: I don't eat seafood and I can do without what I call "all the greenery" on the plate meals but im trying. :lmao:
we have two breakfast at crystal palace. one the first and one the last park day. this has been a tradition for a long. and in no order, narcoossees, biergaten, chef defrance, via Napoli, teppen edo, be our guest and kona. there is a night in there where we just start out in world showcase at one end and eat our way around to where we started. (oh its not pretty) ::yes::
we are also looking forward to some meet ups with some of brianas coworkers! there is also a special meet and great with a girl who briana danced with since she was four who happens to be close to Minnie mouse. it wont be easy but we have a secret hand shake so it is just a matter of timing.
also have a few fast pass + lined up. mainly 5 mine train fps. we are rope drop people and at this point in our addiction we no longer feel the need to ride everything ten times.ok, maybe the people mover. :lmao:
we just count our blessings, remember all the memories and like spending time with each other in the happiest place on earth enjoying the sights and sounds. :thumbsup2

We returned home from our Rochester NY to WDW and back trips on Monday. Here's a little bit about it....

Route: I-90, I-79, US19, I-77, I-95, I-4.

Day 1: Rochester to Columbia SC. 5am to 9pm. 1.5 hour delay in
Pittsburgh until we could get to an exit ramp to go around an overturned
truck! Stayed in Microtel off I-77 Exit 9. Good hotel, low price.

Day 2: Columbia to WDW. 6am to 2pm. We got out early and it paid
off big: I-95 in SC with 2 lanes was clear sailing... we could see it getting
crowded and slowing down as we reached GA and 3 lanes... but an hour later and it would be "rubber banding" and slowing way down as always.
No delay on I-4 either!

Day 3: WDW to Beckley WV.
Fast exit from Orlando area (Sunday AM is great time to drive there)
Stayed at Country Inn & Suites Exit 44. Very Nice place, decent price. Trip went fast and uneventful.

Day 4: Beckley to Rochester: A quick stop at Starbucks and then at Biscuit World (yum!) and another uneventful drive... except for the interruptions from work!

Almost no construction issues... just a lane closure here or there with no delays.

We left on Aug. 7th from MD and arrived back home at almost midnight on the 17th. I kept track of our gas purchases and we spent 320.01 Not too bad. We drove to the parks except for when we went to DTD and MK. We also ate out in town a few times. We stayed on property and OKW and Shades of Green.

We spent the night on the way down in Savannah, however that was a free room with my husband's travel rewards. :thumbsup2

NOW.... when we drive next time... WE WILL ALSO stay overnight on the return. We didn't enjoy the drive back and getting back at almost midnight....so we will break it up on the way home too. We have always driven straight thru on the way home and EVERY TIME we say NEVER AGAIN. SO this time... we MEAN IT. LOL

IT was 4 of us so it was much much cheaper than flying.

We are driving down from Philly the end of December. Can someone tell me what exit is the last Wawa in VA. Also does anyone know where in Orlando Wawa is? Is it close to Disney. :beach:

Great tip on the monorail! I am thinking it would be good to stop at WM on our way in...I am a little concerned about storage space in the SUV but I am sure we can cram things in if needed. Is that the closest one that is 1 hour away? I know there are grocery stores but I am such a frugal shopper I faint if I have to buy things at regular grocery store prices. Seriously it gives me anxiety! ;)

No, there are other Walmarts that are closer, but this one was convenient and we needed a break. I'm pretty sure this is the one we stopped at:
Orange City 563 Walmart Supercenter
2400 Veterans Memorial Prkwy, Orange City FL 32763 386-775-1500

I know it was on the southbound side on I-4 with easy access from the highway.

I'm sure some of the other drivers on here could tell you of places that are closer.

Thank you, will note this one. I do have a question for the group...what is everyone's favorite smartphone app for finding stores/restaurants/gas stations along your route? I can't seem to find a good one. Mostly use Scout and Google Maps. And of course carry a Triptik and plenty of AAA maps with us!

Have you tried iExit? It lists almost all businesses within a mile and a half of highway exits. It works while you're on the road. It's not free, but it's cheap...maybe $2.99. I have it on my iPhone. Saved us from a couple of iffy situations.

I subscribe to thenextexit.com ... I like that it has a PC interface and a mobile app. I extract copies of my routes for a trip, then use search/replace to colorize my favorite places to stop. Starbucks in Green, of course.

We use this to scan ahead for exits with places we want to eat.

We use gasbuddy to search for best gas prices by plugging in upcoming towns, and always looking ahead to the next state in case prices are much lower there.

Hi all! I just discovered this thread today. We've made the drive from south Jersey to Disney (1,050 miles each way) many times. I'm not actually sure of the exact number but it is definitely at least 15 so that puts us in the Gold category. We might be Platinum but I'm honestly not sure. DD is 18 and has been to Disney 22 times. I think we've only flown 2 of those trips which would give us the 20. Even if it is only 19 with her, DW and I drove once before she was born so we would still be at 20.

I haven't scrolled through the thread at all except to read the opening post but I just wanted to join in. Our most recent trip was 8/8-8/20 this year so we just got back last Wednesday in case anyone has any questions about current stuff.
