HOW WAS IT!!!!!!

heres a song for you guys!!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pflp9MdhXSM

I have to laugh everytime I here this music. my mom is Italian. that's right, swing first ask questions later.:lmao: she would listen to this stuff over and over.(all in Italian,no English) when she got mad, she would start talking in Italian and of course us kids had no idea what she was saying. :lmao: she was barely five foot on a good day and the only time she took that apron off was to go to church. :lmao:
my mom was the youngest of 11. I never seen 11 people eat, dance and sing as much as these 11. they came here with nothing. they lived in a camp after the war till my grandfather could get them here. not a pot to pee in but the happiest people you ever want to meet.
dw never met my mom, I use to take dw to family reunions at my aunts house when they were all still alive. the first time dw went, I told her you have to eat something, my aunt will unload the frig, till you do. :lmao:
when we got in the car to come home, dw looked at me with her eyes wide open and said, "oh my god, why do they yell at each other".( my dw being from a non Italian home, had no idea :lmao:) there not yelling at each other, that's the way they talk!!! 11 kids, how do you think anyone hears you!!!! :lmao: I miss my mom, I know she is standing behind a stove smilling somewhere!

:grouphug:

How do you know that you desperately need a WDW drive?

Answer (what this driver just did on his laptop): traced the entire drive on Google Maps (a mid-point setting) while Walt Disney World Today music was playing in the background! Once the map got to FL, the setting was increased so each exit on I-95 was visible. :surfweb:

Is it August yet? :confused3

All the best. :thumbsup2

:lmao: I do the drive on the satellite view as close as I can get it but was afraid to admit it. :lmao:

Hello my friends.

Instead of posting a separate thread, I'm sure there's someone on here who can answer this question.

We are thinking of switching to OKW over Thanksgiving. If we take the boat to DTD, does it stop at 1, 2 or 3 different docks? We want to go to Raglan Road for sure, maybe somewhere else, and don't want to drive.

Thanks!!

So, I'm finalizing me travel plans for our upcoming road trip to Disney World. i'm planning over two days each way. We'll be departing SE MA around 2:30 am on the 6th, stopping in Walterboro, Sc, then arriving at ASSp on the 7th.

My question is: when do you typically leave DisneyWorld to head home? We are scheduled to head home on 8/15. I was thinking of spending the morning in one of the parks and leaving WDW around 2ish. Would stopping near the SC/NC boarder be a feasible goal?

no later then 3:30am for us. gets me home at 7pm. gets me past Jacksonville before any rush hour or weekend travelers hit the road.

I want this info too! I'm coming from Buffalo and the route googlemaps has is going through PIT. I am just so unsure of the route I should be taking from PIT.

im not familiar with the area but I would get myself to i77 as easy as possible.

I stayed at okw a few times. :lmao: before all the construction, it was a non stop trip to the dock near raglan. :thumbsup2

The SC/NC border is probably a 7 hour drive from Disney. So if you left the park at 2pm, you would arrive at the NC/SC border around 9pm. I suppose it all depends on your 'road trip stamina'. We also do the drive from SE MA, and as tempting as it would be to return to the parks on departure day, I know that it would not work for our family. We do much better on our return road trips when we get off to an early start; we usually leave the resort around 6am, thus avoiding any Florida traffic. With that said, what works for one family, may not be suitable for your family, but if your heart is set on that one last park visit...go for it!!!:)

Thanks! Last time we left around 10:30am (didn't go to a park) and we weren't ready to stop where I had made reservations for the night in SC. I'm thinking with a later departure, we won't have that problem. I might stop closer to mid SC instead of driving to the SC/NC boarded.

We also drive from SE MA. We would love to make it down to Walterboro but just can't seem to make it. Our limit seems to be about 14 hours of driving. That usually brings us to Fayetteville NC.
On the way home we drive about the amount the first day. That brings us to Fredericksburg VA. We like to make the first day the longest bc the second day we're wiped.
Both second days down and back are about 8-9 hours.

We drove from SE MA for the first time April 2013, and stopped at Fayetteville NC on the way down and back. Next time - April 2015 - we plan on stopping at Fayetteville NC on the way down, but someplace closer to home on the way back, maybe Emporia VA.
On the way back last time I didn't think we would ever get out of Connecticut !

we did this the past two years. We packed the car, headed to the park for a few rides, had lunch and got on the road around 2. The first year we stayed in Santee SC and the second year we made it to Walterboro.

Thanks! Do you recall about how long it took you to get to Walterboro?

We stayed about 45 minutes north of Fayetteville last time. I found that I just wasn't ready to stop when we did. I've been debating between Walterboro and Dillon, SC as a stopping point on the way down this time.

We left wdw just around 2 and we made it to Walterboro SC around 7:30 checked in and grabbed some dinner. It was around 5.5 hours from Disney.

And, tomorrow for us is our departure day. So excited. 1326 miles to Disney, two nights on road, and the magic begins. Four nights at the Beach Club, CL, then to our home away from home, 7 nights at Fort Wilderness. We will be the cheeseheads with the cow, milk can, and laughter!
