I have another week. You can't get rid of me that quickly. :rotfl2:

I'll probably be posting on the Dis while DH is driving. You know, the "Where can we stop for the night between Valdosta and Lake City" posts.

:lmao:

if you make it that far........ keep going. :drive:

I did get a text from our fearless leader.(bc) they have arrived safe and sound and was touring dtd at the time. :thumbsup2

Greetings to all!

We departed the Jersey Shore Friday morning at 12:10 a.m. amidst some drizzle.

We crossed the following borders on I-95 at the identified times:

DE...1:40 a.m. (light rain and drizzle ended in NJ)

MD...2:00 a.m.

VA...3:41 a.m. (smooth sailing despite one lane only due to construction in the northern part of the state)

NC...6:37 a.m. (one hour rest/nap)

SC...10:02

GA...1:15 p.m.

FL...3:02

Flagler, FL HIE at 5:05 p.m. We could have made it to Lake Buena Vista but all the hotels were booked (125,000 bikers in area for Bike-Tober fest).
We totalled 968 miles from our driveway to Flagler.

Today we checked into the Lake Buena Vista HI on Hotel Plaza Blvd. (and broke the 1,000+ mile one way drive mark). :drive:

Went to HS this afternoon and DTD this evening.

The past few years we've been arriving a day early to stay at a Disney-affiliated hotel on Hotel Plaza Blvd. so we can enjoy a full day at WDW upon arrival (we check into the Boardwalk Inn tomorrow morning).

All the best. :thumbsup2

Woo Hoo!

Hey, I was up in your neck of the woods at Whitehall HS on Saturday. Tournament of Bands, Eastern PA Championships - Spring-Ford Middle School champs!! Lauren's first year (7th grade), saxaphone. Finished up just as the monsoon hit.

Next drive: Boardwalk Inn to Contemporary.

Reason: Dinner at the California Grill.

All the best. :thumbsup2

Wow just found this and we have driven at least 6 times in last 5 years. We are driving again this may me dh dd7 ds4 but we usually leave at 6pm and drive straight thru. This year we feel the kids are older and we are tired of being exhausted when we get there so leaving 5am get there 11pm. We have never done this before and will be traveling on a Saturday I am excited to drive in daylight but keep finding myself trying to leave earlier so we can not waste a day there. Any help?

leave friday at 6pm. Drive until you are toast. Get a room for the night. then get up in the morning early and be there by dinner. You can get another night in the parks for just the price of the hotel on Friday night.

just a thought.

Oh also forgot that since my husband does most of the driving he feels stopping to sleep he won't be able to relax knowing he has a long drive ahead. I have tried that one got shot down lol

We leave Rhode Island at 3:00am and drive straight through and barring any disasters along the way, are there by 10-11pm. This was the first year we did that. We usually stop in South Carolina around dinner and sleep over, however since the boys are older (12 and 8) figured they could handle the full trip. Dave is the only driver and he did prefer it that way this time, versus the stop.

what we have been doing, because I drive straight thru, get the old "im to excited to sleep" a week before we leave. (yes, I still get that :lmao:)

we come home from work, eat, go to bed around 7pm. (car is packed a ready to go) wake up and hit the road at 1am. I pull into okw 4:30 - 5:00pm.

We have found leaving at 9 am and stopping around 10-11 pm is great. We make it all the way to Northern Georgia and are tired and can sleep. Then we get up and have breakfast at the motel and hit the road by 9 again. We stop at the Florida Welcome Center and are in WDW by 3, check in time!!

OMG! I was with Band Moms LOL. We were focused!!!! But the drive was easy (on the way there, no rain) so we really should make it a point to hang out at home, not just at WDW!

I'm curious how BC does with FP+. What are you guys doing? There's a TON of people on this thread who go often and I really want to hear everyone's experiences. We haven't bought tickets yet so I can't make any reservations. Plus the change from the GAC is turning our plans upside down. I'm really scared we won't be able to go any more.

well, I ordered our bands this weekend. we are not going to do fast pass plus this trip. heres are problem, tammy and I have aps. I didn't renew brianas because she gets in for free. cast members cant use fast pass plus.(could you see if they could. you would never get a fast pass for anything.:lmao:)
i can only get two fps in advance. so we are going to do it the old fashion way. i forget what day your getting there, she was approved for vacation for the 20th and the 21st.(im sure she will be working 10 - 12 hour days till jan 3rd ater that.lol)

@sharadoc - we are in Spring Ford too. Leaving on Black Friday around 1 am and going to make it the whole way down. Should be there around dinner time. Hoping not to hit residual thanksgiving traffic.

When you get there how tired are you and I was thinking of doing something like this but what did you do to make sure you were able to sleep at 7 pm I was thinking of getting up at 4 am the morning before so i would be tired early but am afraid it will backfire and be even more tired lol
