Wow nice gas prices... 45 miles west of Chicago we are at 3.58 a gallon. I would think in the city is over 4.00 or right around it. Hoping it drops a little more before our drive in Dec.

While driving into Atlantic City this afternoon, we saw $3.09 (regular) as the lowest price; however, most of the other nearby stations were around the $3.17-$3.23 range.

All the best. :thumbsup2

Gas in CT is around 3.68 to 3.80 something.

So... does anyone know if I can program a route into the maps app on my iphone 5? I really like the map feature that comes with it- it talks and give turn by turn and it doesn't turn off just because I haven't touched the screen. I'd like to program the inland route from CT to Disney in there.

Thanks!

Going to be leaving in a few hours, we decided to drive through the night instead, still not sure if we will stop or go all the way. I worked an 8 hour day today. We check in on Saturday, must of put the wrong date in my ticker.

According to the time of your post, you good folks are probably already on the road. We've got about an hour to go. Two suitcases in the vehicle; three more bags, a cooler, a food container and a few other assorted items to pack.

All the best. :thumbsup2

So, are we there yet?

We're doing the single digit dance. Right now, our plans are to leave early next Saturday morning (the 26th) around 4 AM, and drive until we get tired. Hoping to make it to Lake City, Florida about 5 PM. However, we'll stop when we get tired.

Anyone know of any good places to stop for the night between Valdosta and Lake City on I-75? We want to make it to the Florida border before stopping; however Lake City may be pushing it.

Lake City is a three hour drive to the World, and we wouldn't have to stop. Valdosta is a four hour drive, and we would probably have to stop. We're hoping to make it into the Magic Kingdom by noon Sunday.

One other problem. We may be limited to two drivers, my DH and myself. DD25 is coming with us; however we are taking DH's new company car. The company is allowing this; however it's just DH and me on the insurance. DD25 is bummed out about it. She complains that she can drive five hours without stopping. DH's limit is about three hours, and mine is about two hours. More stops mean more time to get down there. However, DH and I are getting old, and we need more stops anyway. Stopping every 2 1/2 to 3 hours is good enough.

Besides, I can't imagine her daughter (DGD4) being cooped in in a car seat for five hours straight.

21/2 , 3 hours is good. even if its just to walk to the restroom and back to the car. that's what we do just to stretch the legs and back. :thumbsup2

im sure you will be on line but if we don't hear from you, have a great time!!!:thumbsup2

I have another week. You can't get rid of me that quickly. :rotfl2:

I'll probably be posting on the Dis while DH is driving. You know, the "Where can we stop for the night between Valdosta and Lake City" posts.

I hope to hit route 4 around the orlando area around 9:30 am. Does anyone know what the traffic is around that time of day on a Friday morning?

I haven't hit it on a Friday at that time in a long time.my guess would be, as long as there are no wrecks, it should be moving.
they have the travel signs up. ( 10 miles 9 minutes etc..) probably have more of a hassle getting thru Jacksonville during rush hour. rush hour should be over when you hit Orlando.
