Only about 9 hours left until we head out. First day will be straight thru to Florence, S.C. Then we will finish up the rest on Saturday! :cool1:

Further south on I-95 you'll cross Lake Marion (which, we believe, is mile marker #100), which is about half-way through SC, a state with 198 miles of I-95. You'll have about 90 minutes left on I-95 in SC after Lake Marion.

All the best.

Well we made it to Orlando frpm NH in just under 23 hours! Traffic was minimal for leaving. at such a wacky AM time. Only got hung up in NY traffic for an hour yesterday afternoon... Otherwise t was smooth sailing with almost zero construction! Off to the inlawz and the beach before we visit the Mouse!

Safe Travels everyone! :)

All the best. :thumbsup2

First leg of the trip complete a little over 700 miles in 12 hours 20 minutes. That includes 2 food stops 1 gas stop and 1 accident delay in VA.

anyone stop at any of the beaches in florida on the way to disney? any not too far off path? thanks for the info.

Safe travels everyone! We came home yesterday...left Wilderness Lodge (how sad!) at 6:30 am and arrived home in Northern NJ at 11:30 pm, so 17 hours...an hour longer than our NJ to FL last week, but still pretty good time.
:thumbsup2

Did you run into the three-lanes-to-two-lanes traffic jam in GA where crews are paving I-95? It took us an hour last week to drive ten miles.

All the best. :thumbsup2

Well its finally MY TURN!!! We are off to Orlando. Leaving RI at 2:00 a.m. on Saturday, hoping to beat some of the terrible weather predicted in the east Saturday. I chickened out and we are taking Route 95 all the way down, instead of the planned Route 84

With any luck we will arrive safely in Orlando sometime tomorrow, after an overnight stop in the Carolina's-haven't figured that one out yet!!!

We stopped in Ormond Beach (north of Daytona Beach). Nice beach, no great places to stay though. It was nice to have a short ride to WDW in the morning.

Just a reminder to anyone who can answer the aforementioned question.

We drove down last April and stayed at the Comfort Inn in Dillon S.C. just off the highway. Great night sleep. 99$ for the night. It was really nice and they have free breakfast. We usually stop driving around 10 pm. We leave Mass. at around 6:30 am on Sat and arrive around 11:30 at our hotel Sunday. We take 95 all the way. Good luck and enjoy your vacation. We are flying out in the morning. Leaving at 6AM and arriving in Orlando at 9AM. I love the drive but can't beat getting there in 3 hours.

Congrats on the safe arrival!! Love your planning spreadsheet!

Thank You!! :wizard: I:wizard: hope its something that can be found helpful and may make someone's trip run a little smoother and more magical!??

St Augustine is pretty and nice, but I would rather drive an hour across the state to hit the white sugar-sand beaches and blue-green water of St pete Beach/Clearwater area instead! Well worth the trip!! Thats where we are heading before we hit WDW at the end of the week!! In reality - we should have done Disney first, and the relax at the beach second, but it didnt pan out that way this year... :confused3

If I'm at WDW and want to take a day at the beach, then you would suggest going west? Easy drive or a lot of traffic? Just one hour from WDW to St. Pete? This is something I've wanted to do each trip but so far it hasn't happened.
