FoP with no FP+ We did it!!

Haven't been on FOP yet but it sounds like it's similar to "Soaring" with more car movement.
Does that sound like a good assessment?
In my opinion, I think it's much more immersive than soarin. I really felt like I was making the twists and turns. It was similar but so much better than soarin. Don't get me wrong, I love soarin. I just rode it today, but FoP is more intense. I get motion sickness easily and I did take 1 Dramamine the morning I rode FoP and I had no problems with being nauseated.

Hey everyone!

I am actually going to be a Disney this weekend (Labor day weekend) Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. I got my park tickets LATE so I couldn't get a fast pass to any of the Pandora rides. I REALLY want to ride Flight of Passage as a few friends were there opening weekend and they were raving about it on social media. I have the Disney app and the standard wait time is always over two hours. I am a solo traveler and I was wondering if anyone knows if there is a single riders line for Flight of Passage and River Adventure and what were the normal wait times for you if you rode without a fast pass. Either way, if I have to wait 3 hours I think I might do it because I won't be back at Disney world until 2019 when Star Wars land opens ha.

If you're interested in an alternate strategy, lines haven been reported to be much shorter at night recently.

For example, Touring plans reported a posted wait of 90 minutes with an actual wait of 35 minutes Saturday night at 9 pm.

Sounds just like my morning a couple of weeks ago. I was back out in front of FoP at 9:01am and finished Navi River at 9:17a without a FP. Except my old knees don't let me power walk anymore so I wasn't as close to the front. However I was lucky to have been pulled out of line as a single rider to fill in the first FoP flight of the morning.

I think we did wait about 90 minutes as we both arrived at Security just before 7:30am. For some reason, the rope drop wait doesn't feel as bad. And I am also looking forward to doing it again!

I think part of why rope drop doesn't feel like waiting as long, at least for me, is you don't feel like you could be doing something else in the park and often I sit down while waiting for part of rope drop.

I saw people literally dragging their children behind them as they ran. At one point a mother stopped to tie her kid's shoe and her husband stood over her screaming at her for stopping.

This makes me so sad for the kids. Don't know what's wrong with people. :sad2:

We'll be there next week and weren't able to get FP's for FoP either. But... we were able to get tickets to the DVC after hours event on Wednesday evening so I'm hoping the line will be pretty short then!

Thanks that could be an alternate plan. I think Animal Kingdom says open until 9:30pm the whole weekend. If I got in line for FOP at 9pm and it took longer than 30 mins to ride, would the ride stay open until every person that was in line at 9pm ride before closing or would the cast members just kick you out ha? Still if I did do the evening route, I would still get there at least at 8pm.

You can get in line up until 9:29 and be allowed to ride regardless of the length of the line. Disney does have procedures in place to make the lines appear longer than they really are to discourage late riders. That's why the actual waits are the shortest of the day.

It is much more than that. The 3D video along with the increased speed of the movement depicted in the video makes it much more immersive. Adding the more aggressive movement of the seats combined with the enhanced physical effects make you feel like you are really flying. Fairly aggressively. Well, aggressive relative to Soarin'. Soarin' is gentle. FoP, especially the first time through, is hang on tight and be prepared to be amazed.
