I did a search, but couldn't find anything recent/specific.

I was wondering what the status is of the single rider line at FOP. Have they opened it yet? Have they gotten rid of it?

I agree that it doesn’t seem they plan to utilize it anytime soon. It’d probably back up like RnR does. But I wish they’d find a way to pull singles out, maybe nearer the end toward the boarding area as opposed to self-entry line. We’ve been lucky to ride many times with FP+, and we’ll over half those times there is an empty spot just because of loading math. Twice, two separate empty spots.

Some Disney ride CM's have said they'll never use the single rider line.

I don't know how a single rider line for that ride would be helpful. I can't imagine that they have any trouble filling every "Banshee" for most rides. I guess occasionally there might be an open Banshee, but not enough that a Single Rider line would be beneficial. I might be totally wrong, but I wouldn't want to be waiting in a Single Rider Line until an 'odd' number of people show up.

I have used FP+ to ride it twice, just by myself. When I got close to the boarding area, the CM told me to go to #8 of a theatre, twice. So I think they do try to fill the empty single spots. Just no designated line for it

That is pretty much what I’ve heard across the board.

They do pull singles out. Maybe there were no singles when you rode? But they do call for singles when you get into the last room close to the ramps. I’ve gotten pulled from pretty far back each time I rode solo.

Yep. To the point they have totally removed the sign. Not covered, taken down
The way it was designed was all wrong anyway. It merged with the FP line and you'd have to self separate. Or station a second CM.
I'm not surprised they have eliminated it

I could be mistaken (I often am) but I rode FOP multiple times the last 2 days and each time I saw what appeared to be a single rider line. I didn't see where people entered it, but when we were waiting to be sent to a room (chamber) in the two lines, a few singles would walk up in the center aisle between. When they needed a single, the CM would take from that line, but if they needed 2 or 3, they'd just go down the group line until they found what they needed to fill the room. There were only a couple of peple there each time. It could have been something else but not sure what?

I can't see the benefit of a single rider line: They have several CMs immediately pre-boarding, who ask how many in your group (you are asked more than once), and call out the # needed to fill a room to capacity. E.g., they'll call out "party of 2" or 3, or whatever is needed. Sometimes the proper size group is way down the line - he/she/they get to go ahead and ride sooner (to fill the room out to capacity).

Until they reduce staff at the large room just prior to placing you on a numbered spot in the first (of 2) pre-show rooms, I can't see a single rider line making sense.

Come to think of it, its set up like Soarin - they fill each row (usually) by calling out for the # needed.

I ride single often, and get sent to the "middle" line in the pre-boarding area (when you reach the FP merge - first place they ask how many are you).

Every time I have ridden FOP (well over 10 times) they do this at the merge. I’m alway single for FOP. If you are alone, they direct you to the middle row. And I’ve never seen them leave a seat empty. There are always one or two people in the single rider lane.

They didn't enter in a separate line. They get sorted and sent down at the merge point when they ask how many in your party. Those guests still stood in stand by or used a fast pass

It's not single rider in the sense that we are used to where it gets you into a completely different queue. It's just at the merge to assist in filling in the extra spots but really doesn't gain much. I also wonder if that typically means the single rider will be given the end seats rather than just staying in the normal line at the merge.

Maybe there were no singles all those times. In a 90 minute line. Or: Perhaps like any attraction, the loaders vary. Or they have been told it’s not important. Still seems like they could pull more singles farther back. I’m sure it adds up over time.

That's kind of what I was thinking mmight be happening, but wasn't sure - thanks! Makes sense!

I was talking with a CM about this. I'm pretty impressed by the operation, and it seems like it has gone more smoothly than most major attraction openings. No matter how much Imagineers have planned out every scenario, you really don't get to learn about real world conditions until you actually open it up to the public.

It makes sense that they planned ahead for a single rider system to have that option, but it turned out that with proper grouping techniques they can come close to utilization of all available seats. @HelenParr says exactly what the CM told me. The final grouping area is large enough and open enough that they can pull people from pretty far down the line if need be for that final group of 1, 2, or 3 (unlike most rides, where you can only pull people forward so much). Also, there is enough time to group between cycles, unlike attractions where you're under pressure to dispatch many individual ride vehicles.

Yep. The only thing that it sucks for is single riders loose a short line option. That would have been nice, I have to say. But I do see why they don't need one. Honestly was surprised they didn't see it when designing seeing how it is so similar in design to Soarin queue. Should have been pretty clear from the start it was going to work very similar
