FOP rope drop & child swap

We are going in September and plan on rope dropping FOP. We have 4 adults and one toddler. We've never done rope drop with a non rider. Do we just follow the crowd, get in line and then ask for child swap at the beginning of the official queue? Any recent experience with this? Thanks in advance.

Yes, there is a CM near the entrance who will scan the MBs/tickets for the people who will stay with the child and therefore ride second. When the first group gets off, you'll meet up, transfer care of the child, and the second group will go through the FP line after having their MBs scanned. Normally you'd all go visit with that CM before anyone gets in line, but at rope drop I'd say for all of you to stay together in line until you get to the entrance, so that you don't lose your place in that rope drop line.

Thanks! I would rather go over to the safari first thing but my son wants to go to FOP. I keep telling him it's going to be different now that he's a dad. We'll see what happens.

If you are towards the front of the pack getting on FOP quickly do not used your child swap after the first group gets off, take the whole party to Navi River next then go back with your FOP child swap

Great idea. I didn't know if the 2nd group had to ride right away......
