FOP on crowd level 3 day, no FP

Would you rope drop, or try before closing?

I'd much rather get in line right before closing. I hate fighting those rope drop crowds.

Before closing will always lead to the best day. Simply because even at rope drop it could be an hour if your not right at the front.

Also you never know. On a level 3 day you might actually get a FP+ for it if you keep refreshing throughout the day. Back in September which is another slow time I was able to get FOP every evening that we wanted.

It depends on whether or not you have more then 1 day in AK or how important it is to you. Last thing at night has been very successful but if it goes down and you don’t have another day you’ll miss it. If that’s not a big concern then I’d say at night. If you want a recovery plan if they ride goes down then I’d RD with the backup of going at night (or ride twice).

Personally, i would do both. I enjoy the ride that much.
I'd arrive at the tapstiles 60 minutes before opening. That should get you to FoP with a short wait.
Then you can still ride at the end of the day if you like.

I disagree - I say rope drop and be in front. That way when you are done with AK for the day, you have plenty of time left for dinner, shows, or even another park - whatever floats your boat. It is still a mess at RD and you do have to be in front and hurry to the holding bridge. But if you are, you will be off the ride 20 minutes after opening, be able to ride Na'vi with almost no wait, and then get to the rest of the park while everyone else is in line for FoP.

End of day for sure! My wife and I are planning two days at AK the last day of the trip we were able to score a FP but our first day we weren't. Looking forward to waiting in the line the first day at night, I hear the line for the attraction is really awesome not to mention Pandora is beautiful at night.
