FOP FP vs NRJ FP

I am trying to decide whether or not to book 2 days of AK Fastpasses and if I should focus only on getting two FOP FPs, or one FOP FP and one NRJ FP. I've read that some people have had success getting NRJ FP the day of after using their first 3 FPs for the day.

We rode FOP on opening day, and absolutely loved it. I wasn't about to wait hours for NRJ, so we didn't do that ride. However, I've heard it's not super special...the technology I've read and heard about is pretty cool, but other than that, I'm not sure it's worth wasting an opportunity to do FOP twice.

What have been your experiences lately for getting NRJ FPs the same day? We are going in September next.

My biggest regret of last week's trip to Disney was getting a fp+ for Na'vi!! I wish I had just gotten 2 for FoP.

We walked on Na'vi after doing FoP on AK EMH morning. We had a fp+ for Na'vi at 9:30 pm the same day. We unanimously released those fastpasses at 10:00 am that day without hesitation.

Agree. FoP is by far the better choice. I wouldn't use a FP+ for Navi again. There are ways to ride it otherwise but FoP is a far better investment.

I was there opening day also. We rode FOP and NRJ that day and also the next day.

Not sure how good you are at rope drop, but I would still stick with FOP FP both days and rope drop NRJ one of your mornings.

How early are people arriving to do rope drop for Pandora?
An hour early is a good rule of thumb if you want to minimize waits in the SB lines for FOP or NRJ. NRJ seems to fill more slowly in the AM so it is possible you could arrive 30 minutes before RD and still be good. If it were me I would shoot for 60 minutes.

Also curious about the success of getting a 4th FP for NRJ
That is not easy but can be done. When we were at AK on opening day a couple standing next to us in a queue for FOTLK asked me for advice on how to keep MDE refreshed. About 5 minutes later NRJ FPs popped up and she got them.

I myself checked throughout the day and never saw any.

Book a FP for FoP, get to the park early, head straight for NRJ and ride it standby

Last week I wished I had skipped on the NRJ FP and did two for FOP. It's a pleasant ride but FOP is so cool
