Hi All
Can anyone tell me what the best all round footwear is for December.
It would be great if it snows while we are at DLP over Christmas, but what are the walking conditions like in the park if it does ?
We are thinking of buying DS the walking type boots but any ideas on what the adults can wear. Will we get away with ordinary shoes do you think ?

I wore the same shoes as I do over here when we last went in December - it didn't snow though so I'm not sure if that will make a difference. Denise and I have been talking about getting some more robust boots that have a ton of grip in case it does get a bit slippery.

Hi, personally I wouldn't go for a new pair of shoes for a trip to DLP. I always wear trainers that are well broken in... this December I'm taking some shearling boots too, with a good walking sole, I've been wearing them for a few weeks to make sure they are broken in. If my feet are uncomfortable it can ruin my whole day! I'm not worried about snow, or slippery floors, I'm sure Disney don't want people falling over so maybe they sprinkle grit or sand if the weather get really bad!!

In our previous trips ( we use to go in Dec. / Jan.) we had snow and also icy weather :just outside the shops' entrance it could be a little slippery ... in the late afternoon.
We used to wear double-soled boots which have fur inside ; always dry and comfortable !!!
We also use wool socks .

YOU WILL HAVE A MAGIC TIME !!!!!!! whatever weather you get !!!

Take more shoes than you planned, once they get wet they take ages to dry . We had one day last week thet I squelched around and my youngest had shopping bags between her socks and shoes!!!

Welcome home Nikki!!! Hope you all had a really wonderful time!! Hope you're going to tell us all about it!!! :teeth:

I've just bought a few pairs of thermal, extra comfort ski socks which will keep my feet and the bottom half of my legs toastie - a bargain at £4 a pair from Tesco.

Good advice Tia about making sure that whatever you wear is well broken in.
In November; albeit no snow, we all wore boots that we would wear at home.

Comfy trainers and thick socks worked well for me. It did snow, but it wasn't deep on the ground. The area around Skull Rock, and the rope bridges are particularly slippery when icy - I speak from experience!!!!!!

Luckily I have a well padded bum Tia :rotfl2: Did spend an hour or two looking as if I'd wet myself though!!
Oh poor you! :grouphug:

Dee, we have bought some boots similar to walking boots with a thick sole and I have sprayed them with some waterproof spray I bought in Oswald Bailey. We've got thermal socks and we're also going to pack a pair of trainers each just in case our boots get wet through and don't get chance to dry. That happened to me with my trainers in the summer and I have suffered with my left foot ever since.:(
