Ok.. I usually wear my good sneakers with orthodics for walking. but july is hot. I also use birkenstocks sandals which have given me good support in the past. but last summer I tore the meniscus? in knee, had it fixed; and the birkenstocks are 3 summers old and definitely have wear on the soles- and need to be replaced. Can anyone who has had similiar problems recommend a sandal like shoe that will be good for my knees?? (and feet too :)
thanks Jill

Hi Jill!

I also have a bad knee (arthritis), and I love my Crocs sandals. Very comfy, and have a bit of a 'cushion' to absorb the shock of walking on concrete all day.

Enjoy your vacation!

I also have a bad knee, and my Crocs don't make it act up at all. I have three pair of Crocs when vacationing in Orlando, Mickey Crocs, Skutes, and Cleos. The Skutes and Cleos are more sandal-like and give lots of airflow.

I also vote for Crocs, and I won't go to Disney without my Birkenstocks and a good pair of New Balance Tennis shoes. I switch my shoes up and give each pair a break between days, this tends to help!

I find that my feet are too narrow for the regular crocs and they made my knees hurt. The mary janes seem better, but are not my first choice for Disney. All 3 of my kids need orthodics to function and I just ordered some sandals that look like they will accomodate the orthodics since they have a built in heel and even toe coverage.

Hopefully these will do the trick. Crocs do not help with there foot and leg pain so they are not an all day option for them. Most sandals don't give enough support so a sandal with orthodic seems reasonable.

My mom has really bad knees and ankles. She swears by her Crocs. Personally I love my Teva Mush flip flops and Montrail Molokini flip flops. She has all three also, and wears all three, but swears her Crocs are best for her bad knees. That's about all she wears.

If your feet are too narrow for the crocs, try the kids department. I have a 7-8 foot and was able to find a kid size that fit perfect. I, too, have narrow feet. There are also new styles that are not cut as wide.

I just had my fourth knee surgery, same knee, last month. This last one was a major reconstruction.

Crocs and sandals are no good for me at all. I wear a really good pair of running sneakers daily and especially in WDW. I prefer my New Balance or Addidas sneakers.

I really hoped my Crocs were going to be good for me since I had heard so many good things about them. My kids are huge fans.

I hope you can find something that works for you. I know all too well how miserable knees can be!
