I feel like I have made all the yummy "normal" stuff in the past few weeks. I need some more ideas. Last weekend I made crock pot shredded beef, lil smokies wrapped in bacon, artichoke dip, bean dip & scallops... what to make this weekend?????

- a big pot of soup (with ground beef, noodles, etc... you know the 'hearty' kind).

- turkey bbq or pork bbq

- homemade chicken strips/nuggets/fingers (my family loves the ones we make from scratch)

- ribs ?

or best yet: outsource (to the hubby not the caterer)

- football meatloaf (make a meatloat and shape it like a football. use some onions on the top for the laces... looks great until dug into!)

Cocktail meatballs.

Grape jelly, meatballs and either chili sauce or bbq sauce, heat through. You can do it in the crockpot or on top of the stove. I suggest the crock pot though because it gets really hot and splatters a little and the hot sugar gives a bad burn.

Hot wings, chicken nuggets. We always have chips and dip.

Queso dip:

Use a half pound of Velveeta and either a can of Hormel Chili with no Beans or a jar of your favorite salsa
1. cut the cheese into smaller cubes
2. mix with the salsa or chili
3. microwave for a minute, then stir. Repeat this step until all the cheese is melted and smooth

Serve with Tortilla chips

Nachos....

Saute up some ground beef w/ taco seasoning. Meanwhile heat your oven to 400. Put chips in the bottom of a glass baking dish, glob on some refried beans, sprinkle on some cheese. When your meat is done, pour that over the top. Sprinkle with more cheese. Bake until cheese is bubbly and some of the chips start to brown.

Put on toppings and serve immediately.

(Some toppings I've used: lettuce, tomato, salsa, sour cream, guacamole)

Delish and easy. This is our standard Super Bowl fare.

For a healthier version use baked chips, 2%/Lowfat Cheese, ground turkey, and light sour cream.

I love to get this at Smoky Bones - BBQ chicken chips.

I guess it's just white meat chicken that's been shredded in BBQ sauce, with sliced jalepenos, shredded cheddar and sour cream.

Yum!!!

We make that Rotel dip for a lot of football games, and it is SO GOOD!

We also make chicken wings a lot, with either Cookie's wing sauce or Hooters sauce. Those are always a big hit. :thumbsup2

What is beer bread??

Everything sounds yummy!!

Beer bread is a Tastefully Simple product, I think Pampered Chef sells it too. It's a dry bread mixture that you add 1 can of beer to and bake, it is soooo yummy! I keep it on hand in my pantry and everyone that comes over wants me to make it. I also make the Spinach and Herb dip from TS to dip the bread in and it's always been a hit.

My girls love the Rotel dip, they will ask for that as dinner every once in a while.

Yum!! Can you only buy the Tastefully Simple products online/via party? Do they sell their brand in any stores?

If you don't have the tastfully simple mix it's so simple to make.

You need a beer and some self rising flour. Don't use heavy beer like guiness, dh likes it that way but I don't.

3 cups self rising flour (must be self rising)
1/4 cup sugar
1 can light beer

Don't leave out the sugar, it's to feed the yeast in the beer to get the bread rising. It's so good, hot with butter mmmm.

Touchdown Taco Dip...I love this!!

1 -16 oz can refried beans
8 oz cream cheese -- softened
1 pkg (1.25 oz) taco seasoning mix
2 garlic cloves, -- minced
1 small tomato, -- cored and diced
1/4 cup onion, -- chopped
1/4 cup black olives, -- chopped
2 tbsp fresh cilantro, -- chopped
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Sour cream
Baked pita or tortilla chips

Preheat oven 375 degrees. Spread refried beans onto bottom of deep dish pan. Combine cream cheese and seasoning mix in medium-size bowl. Add minced garlic to cream cheese mixture; spread over beans. Sprinkle tomato, onion, olives, and cilantro over cream cheese mixture. Top with cheddar cheese. Bake 25-30 minutes or until hot. Garnish with sour cream, if desired. Serve with pita chips or baked tortilla chips.

Note: To prepare pita chips, cut pita bread in half. Slice bread open and cut into triangles; spread over baking stone. Bake in 400 degree oven for 8-10 minutes or until crisp.

Taco Ring
Ingredients

* 1 lb ground beef
* 1 pkg taco seasoning mix
* 1 cup (4 oz) cheddar cheese
* 2 Tbsp water
* 2 8 oz refrigerated crescent rolls
* ______________________________
* Garnish:
* Green bell pepper
* Salsa
* Lettuce
* Tomato
* Chopped onion
* Pitted ripe olives
* Sour Cream

Directions

1. Preheat oven to 375
2. Brown ground beef and drain grease.
3. Stir in taco seasoning, water and cheese.
4. Unroll crescent rolls and separate. Arrange triangles in a circle on a round baking stone with wide ends overlapping in center and points toward the outside. There should be about a 5 inch diameter in the center.
5. Scoop meat mixture evenly onto widest ends of dough at center of ring. Bring points in and over and tuck underneath the wide end.
6. Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown.
7. You can garnish with bell pepper, lettuce, salsa, tomatoes, onion, sour cream, olives, etc.

Thanks!! That is sooo cool, I will try making it... dumb question... do you bake it in a loaf pan?... at what temp and for how long? I have been cooking for 30 years, but have never made bread. :confused3
