Football experience for an American

I have to be in London for work on 17/18 September and I am a big sports fan. I know very little about any of the football leagues in Europe. I'm assuming the Premier League is the top league? The only game I can seem to find tickets for is Fulham. Is this a good stadium? I'm looking for more of an experience than the game itself. Is there another FC I should check out? Should I look ath the Championship League? Any advice would be great.

you may find it easier to get a ticket for a championship game rather than premier league london teams are arsenal,spurs, chelsea,and fulham in the premiership
and
millwall,queens park rangers, crystal palace and luton are championship teams based in or near london

Looking at the fixtures for 17th/18th you are limited really.

In the Premiership there is Charlton v Chelsea (tickets are only available to season ticket holders or members as Chelsea are a big popular team).
Tickets are still available for Fulham v West Ham, although these are both London teams so the tickets will go fast. (Fulham)

In the Championship the only London game is Queens Park Rangers v Leeds. (QPR)

Hi Michael

Looking at the fixtures list you really only have a choice of 2 premiership matches in London that weekend, both of which are taking place on Saturday 17th.

The matches are Fulham vs West Ham and Charlton Athletic vs Chelsea. Of these two matches the game at Charlton looks like it would be the best to attend although tickets may be hard to come by at such a late date. Chelsea are probably the top football club in this country at the moment (mainly because they have the backing of a Russian oil billionairre ).

The other game is between two teams that will probably finish the season in the lower half of the league but both teams are well supported and I am sure the atmosphere at the game will be just as tense as any other premiership clash you might see. You will also get treated to the odd round of 'I'm forever blowing bubbles' which is a West Ham Utd anthem. I suspect tickets for this game will be slightly easier to come across
