Hello Ladies. I'm in a bind right now. I just found out I have to have surgery on my right foot in April and the Ortho Surgeon said there was no way I would be able to wear high heels for my wedding, but my fiance is over a foot taller than I am, and I really want those extra few inches so we don't look quite so odd in the photos. Can anyone help me find some comfortable, yet "elegant" shoes/sandals for our wedding? :(

hello!!

can the surgeon office recommend something for you? how about a high platform shoes? if your dress is long then it'll be covered most of the time anyways. and just ask the photographer try to avoid shoe shots.

wish you swift recovery after surgery!

At most of the locations there will be photo places that will have stairs or something that you can use to help even out the height differences for the after/posed photos. DH and I aren't quite that different, but I knew I would be on my feet for too many hours and wore very low Liz Claiborne white leather shoes. They used the steps for the pictures so our faces were close together.

What about getting a hot glue gun fired up and decorating something comfortable and cute with beads or something? Or buying the Keds sneakers that are already decorated?

I am so sorry you have to have surgery on your foot. I am the complete opposite though. My DF and I are a foot apart. I'm 5'4" and he's 6'4" and I really like how the height difference looks in photos. My best pal from the UK got married at the WP and is a foot apart from her hubby and they were the best pics I had ever seen!!!

I'm so sorry to hear about your dilemma!

I had a pair of heels and a pair of flats. I wore the heels for the photos in the GF lobby. They were off by the time I got in the limo. I know you wanted heels, but this may be a good option for you for flats. They were sparkley/sequined flats in a white. I got them at a local department store and they are super comfy- and super trendy for spring!
xoxo

I have the height difference too, so I went with platform flip flops. Not sure what kind of foot surgery you're having, whether that would be an option or not. But it deffinatly worked for me.
