foosball/multigame tables - any opinions?

I'm debating between getting a foosball table or a multigame version. We are planning to spend enough to get a fairly decent one - but is the multigame table too poor quality to bother? We will mostly be playing foosball, but I'd love to have other game options. Since the other games are not full size, do you find they are even worth playing? Thanks.

We have a few different game type tables. We have a combo table that was our first purchase. I think it's a Fisher Price, but could be wrong. We still have it, but it spends it's time in the storage room of our basement, unused.

We also have a ping pong table. The kids like that a lot, especially my 11yo and his friends. Up to 4 kids can play and one side can fold up and one person can practice. the down side is that it takes up a lot of space.

We also have a foosball table, which is my favorite. We get into some real heated, fun, games. All ages enjoy playing and it doesn't take much skill. My 5yo plays (I didn't say that he's good...) and even my mother played the last time she visited and she was in her late 70's). We invested in a good quality table knowing that with teens in the house it would get lots of hard play and we wanted a sturdy table that would hold up well.

I think it's better to go for one think and get something good quality. How old are your kids?

My kids are 9 and 12 so we agree the foosball table has to be good quality - that's why we'll probably end up with just the foosball table since I'm not sure about the "multi use tables". However I've been eyeing a "10 in 1 game table" that has a miniature ping pong table, etc. along with a flat surface for checkers and backgammon. I'm looking in the $500 range and for us that's a big deal, but I invision it getting lots of use.

We looked at a multigame table, but decided against it. The ping pong and pool areas were so small and most of the other games would probably not get used.

We got an air hockey table that also had a pingpong table to go on top. Our ds12 and his friends enjoy both of those.

I would go with a good quality foosball table and forget the other games. You can buy board games for most of the ones that are on there.

Very true. Our multi game surface had a teeny ping pong area that was too small to even use. It's hard enough to play ping pong on a big table, but try it on a little table. The kids used to use the little pool table and enjoyed that, but it's not worth buying the combo table table for that. Ours also had a glide hockey (no air), which was fun when the kids were real young, but not as they got older.

Well I bought my kids the multi=table kids version of a skeeball and pool table and i believe one other game.

Guess what. They really never played with it. Ugh! Oh well. It's always set up for the pool table.

I would just get the one table kind either a good quality foos table or air hockey.

Thanks for the advice - sounds like the regular foosball table is the way to go!
