So if you can't get into BWV or BC where should you try to stay? We are going to try to move our reservation over this week from SSR and was wondering if I should throw BLTs into the mix since it is just a monorail ride over to Epcot. What do you think? Thanks, Gina:lovestruc

BLT was our 3rd choice if we couldn't get BWV or BCV for our 9/28-10/2 trip....we were lucky yesterday..BCV were available....BWV was not for 10/1......I do think OKW is close to Epcot too...but hubby prefers the villas attached to hotels

I think if you can't get BWV or BCV, that BLT is a great third option for the food and wine. If you haven't had a chance to stay there yet it is well worth the visit. We stayed there last April and even though we are no MK people, we really enjoyed the resort.

With food and wine the extra walking you will have to do from the monerial con work off a little of the food so you can try more stuff!

Us too....in that order...lol...we were lucky as well with BCV from 9/28 -10/3!

We'll be arriving at BWV on Sunday, Oct. 2nd and not planning on attending F & W until Monday. Last year we stayed at VWL and the buses were really hit or miss. I like the idea of the monorail and you might want to consider staying at SSR since it's fairly close to Epcot.:thumbsup2

Last October we did a split stay between BLT and BWV during F&W. We also took advantage of being near MK for MNSSHP one night while staying at BLT. The monorail worked fine for going to Epcot, the worse part is that you have to change at the TTC from the resort monorail to the Epcot monorail and the reverse coming back. And you can't just crossover to the other monorail you have to go down the ramp and back up on the other side. I still feel like the monorail is an attraction in of itself. I love riding it through Epcot. Have your camera ready!

If you are planning on doing mostly Epcot, then I don't think the third choice really matters. It will take about the same amount of time to travel from BLT, AKV, SSR, OKW to Epcot and only slightly longer to get from AKV to Epcot.

BLT is close to MK, but it would require using the resort monorail and changing to the Epcot monorail at TTC, so by that time you could have taken a bus from most resorts.....

Is there a ramp to switch monorails? Im going to be pushing a stroller and hope when dont have to get up and down stairs.

Here's the problem with BLT. It is great when heading to EPCOT for food and wine since you take the resort monorail to TTC and it is only 1 stop. Then switch and take EPCOT monorail. Everyone is always so exicted and anticipating the day that it never seems like a long trip.

However, at the end of the day or night you have to take the monorail back to TTC and switch and take the resort monorail all the way around to BLT. That is four stops. It can take 45 minutes to an hour to get all the way back just around the resort monorail's 4 stops. Your alternative is to take some other transportation from the TTC/poly to MK and walk back to BLT. You can take the ferry to MK from TTC or the boat from Poly to MK.

Any way you cut it its a two to three leg journey back from EPCOT unless you take a taxi. Believe me. I am an absolute fan of the monorail and consider it to be an attraction. But after a long day eating and drinking around EPCOT in the sun with kids you might not want to haul everything and yourselves back to BLT. I would suggest VWL if you want to be in MK area. It is a bus ride from EPCOT. Otherwise, OKW or AKV.

Enjoy F&W

depending on operating hours, an alternative would be to walk out the world showcase exit of epcot and go grab a bus at BC/YC to the MK. the MK bus will drop you off right across the street from the BLT.

i really liked being across the street from the MK bus hub when i stayed at BLT...

Too funny!! I just switched from BLT to BVC for 9/30 til 10/7. Really struggled with the decision because we love BLT so much but couldn't pass up the opportunity of the location of BCV. DSIL is running the half marathon so the easy return to the resort was important. Can never go wrong w/BLT. Hope you get it!!!

We were able to switch into BCV 10/9 to 10/16 - only hasd to wait list 10/8...
BLT is an option, but if I didn't get my switch, I htink I would have stayed at Kidani...I love the pool and the animals and Sanaa! So - after a few drinks and some food, you have to sit on a bus for 10 minutes...not the end of the world!

Called the other day to switch at 7 month to BCV, BWV or BLT and all were unavailable for my dates, 10/8 -10/12 :(.. I got VWL which will be the first time staying there, so could be good..
I waitlisted BCV & BWV, maybe one will come thru

called last week,(7 month booking) and was able to still get BCV from 10/10 - 10/15! waitlisted for 10/8 & 10/9. but if that doesn't come through we'll stay at OKW our home resort!

Well Pixie Dust was on us. We were able to get BWV Garden View for our dates. Going down 10/9- 10/15. Called at the 7 month mark at 9am. Good Luck to everyone who is waitlisted. :lovestruc

Well, list list may seem odd, but here's my rankings for F&W:

1) BCV/BWV - tie
3) BLT - monorail (but yes, it can take a long while to make that trip)
4) AKV - because of dedicated bus service
5) OKW - close to Epcot and dedicated bus (but just several stops within resort)
6) SSR - same reason as OKW
7) VWL

There you have it.
