My wife seems to think that Braunschweiger may fade away.
It is kind of a divisive food to start with even among baby boomers.
Our kids are Millennials (age 27 and 31) and like it, although DD is now a pescatarian, but she says she misses it.
Funny thing is, I am the only one in the family that likes just plain liver.

Any foods you think will fall out of favor as the generation that eats it ages?

I hope nasty kale will disappear, along with the protein shakes sold via multi-level marketing. Quinoa and Himalayan sea salts. Can you tell I have a relative who's into the food fads?

What goes around comes around -- I can remember when I was a kid my mom drank Metrocal shakes for weight loss. They eventually disappeared, but others have replaced it. Tab and Fresca are gone, and most places don't sell Mtn Dew any more, but they've been replaced with other carbonated drinks du jour, including the ultra-caffeinated stuff.

Canned goods will die with baby boomers.
Also casseroles.
Mayonnaise.
Mincemeat pies.

Baked goods. Newcomers are more into fruit for desserts.

Fresca is not gone, Mountain Dew is the 4th most popular soda in the US

I was wondering the same thing. To me someone who is a foodie is someone who like to try different/local things and has nothing to do with the caloric intake of the foods.

At least around here, the trendy local restaurants cook food to taste amazing, not healthy.

Must be a west coast thing never heard of Braunschweiger.

Again not here, you can get Tab, Fresca & Dew everywhere. Dew even comes in multiple flavors & colors. Just had a Fresca yesterday.

Nope on canned foods, as long as there are snowstorms & survivalists. Mayo as long as there is still tuna or chicken salad. Baked goods maybe store bought but teaching my 9 DGD to bake, she loves it. We just made bread and cupcakes last week.

Hopefully Banquet frozen dinners & Chef Boyardee.

Hmmm... I’m in Az, too and Fresca amd Mountan Dew are still for sale in all of the grocery stores in my area.

Mincemeat pies.

My dad wanted to make a mince pie last Thanksgiving, and he had a devil of a time finding a store that carried mince pie filling. I can't remember if he eventually found it somewhere local or if he had to order it online.

No it's not a west coast thing . I am originally from New England and they have it there. I now live in MD and they have it here too. Usually found in either the deli, or in the pkg lunch meat section . Looks like little slices of bologna (but tastes nothing like it.) I detest it, but hubby loves it every now and then

Readily available throughout the Midwest as well. Also comes in a roll.

What do you think is unhealthy about being a foodie? Maybe that word means something different to you than it does to me (but maybe not!)

When I hear the term foodie, to me, it means gluttony dressed up in a fancy way. Given the epidemic diabetes, heart disease and obesity rates that continue to soar I think it's a major problem on the healthcare system. I don't think most sit down restaurant meals are any more healthy than fast food places.

Have never seen it here in my area. Deli here is usually Dietz& Watson or Prime Select.
