Foods from your childhood, long gone

I got two e-mails from you this morning! I also e-mailed you back with a thank you, didn't you get it?

Anyway, I'm going to try it next time I get ambitious enough to bake. Do you think pre-made pie shells are any good? I've never made a pie before!

Moast pre-made pie shells are great. The frozen ones that Walmart has is a very good one actually. Also the Pillsbury dough that is in the refrigerated case that you put in the pan and bake is also good.

Hostess snowballs.........I remember how much I loved them as a kid. Messy, sticky....MMmmmmmm. My kids thought they were gross, though.

Not to change the subject, but Current has a do it yourself cookbook called "with love from my kitchen". I bought it a few years ago, and gave it to my mom, MIL,and aunts to write the recipes I remember loving when I was younger, when we all seemed to get together more. Now that they are all in their 80's, I suppose it won't be too many years till they are gone, and I will have their recipes in their handwriting to enjoy. (This book is actually for my DD15, and I always write in a recipe that we all enjoy.) I'm just sorry I started it too late for my g-ma, who has been gone 15 years now. She had some great recipes....most out of her head, and not written down, so they are lost now.

Butternut candy bar!

Plain Doritos in the yellow bag. Why would they quit making plain?

I really like the Walmart brand. I think it's even better than the Pillsbury kind. Make sure you get the kind that is in rolls, not folded. It is so easy to work with and you don't have to worry about the crust cracking. I'm stocking up my freezer for holiday baking as we speak, and each time I go to the store I pick up another box of the crusts. I COULD make it from scratch, but this saves me so much time, and tastes better than I could ever get mine to taste. Works out about the same, cost wise, too.

My mother used to make salsbury steak from a recipe off of Campbells soup, cannot find it though :confused3

Does anybody else remember getting glasses in Oat boxes?not boxes, but the round containers.
