Emeril's (kitchen table)...not sure what kitchen table is..Emeril's is hit and miss unless you choose the chefs special digustation menu, that is always outstanding

Tchoup Chop...outstanding

Artist Point...outstanding

Victoria and Albert's...outstanding

Flying Fish...outstanding

Brown Derby...went once never returned..definately not a place to take a foodie

Jiko...outstanding

Chefs de france...very good, but if you want to impress a foodie and you are an adult only party go to Le Bistro

Bluezoo...outstanding

Yachtsmen Steakhouse..worse steak we have ever had..ever...if you have a car..try Del Frisco Double eagle steakhouse in Orlando

Hoop de doo!!!!....everyone has to do this at least once..lol

Happy Eating!!

thank you webray.

The kitchen's table is akin to Chef's Table @ V&A's. It's an 8+ course meal that I would highly recomend.

Brown Derby's menu seemed like they stepped it up a bit, and I figured it would work well with the fantasmic package. That being said, do you still feel it's that awful? I have yet to dine there.

We have eaten at Bistro and thought it was not worth the money. I've had much nicer meals at cheaper french restaurants. Plus, it didn't hold a candle to Emeril's Kitchen Table, which we had the night before. Chefs seems like a descent choice for lunch.

I've heard so many good things about Yachtsmen. That's too bad. It was one on our list that we were debating. Maybe now I'll think twice.

thanks again!

Great choices.

Blue Zoo and Flying Fish were excellent when we visited in May.

Have fun!

To add to Webray's comments

Emeril's (kitchen table)...not sure what kitchen table is..Emeril's is hit and miss unless you choose the chefs special digustation menu, that is always outstanding Never been

Tchoup Chop...outstanding Never been

Artist Point...outstanding most people seem to agree - maybe we caught them on a bad night (both times)

Victoria and Albert's...outstanding agreed best restaurant on site - but your chances of getting the chef's table at V&A this late are zilch.

Flying Fish...outstanding best equals fish restaurant

Brown Derby...went once never returned..definately not a place to take a foodie we go most every trip - not the very best at Disney, but in the top ten

Jiko...outstanding Very good - one very small notch below outstanding.

Chefs de france...very good, but if you want to impress a foodie and you are an adult only party go to Le Bistro Agreed, both Chefs and Bistro are in the top rank of WDW restaurants. Odly, Chef's has moch more of a bistro feel than Le Bistro.

Bluezoo...outstanding best equals fish restaurant - very modern decor & presentation

Yachtsmen Steakhouse..worse steak we have ever had..ever... We've never had a bad steak here. We love their Chateaubriande

Hoop de doo!!!!....everyone has to do this at least once..lol Terrible food - but lots of fun!

The kitchen's table is akin to Chef's Table @ V&A's. It's an 8+ course meal that I would highly recomend. Chefs table sounds like the digustatoin..maybe just in a special place now rather than right at your table if you want it..always excellent for us.

Brown Derby's menu seemed like they stepped it up a bit, and I figured it would work well with the fantasmic package. That being said, do you still feel it's that awful? I have yet to dine there. Brown Derby was definately one of the worst, over priced meals that we have ever had at disney. You have to remember..people who give their reviews come from all walks of life, and to some, Brown Derby will be the fanciest restaurant they ever eat in in their entire lives.

We have eaten at Bistro and thought it was not worth the money. I've had much nicer meals at cheaper french restaurants. Plus, it didn't hold a candle to Emeril's Kitchen Table, which we had the night before. Chefs seems like a descent choice for lunch. Well, if it is for lunch, Chefs is your only choice, most people who review it for lunch have that sandwich combo..not really french. If you order something other htan the lunch special it is fantastic.

I've heard so many good things about Yachtsmen. That's too bad. It was one on our list that we were debating. Maybe now I'll think twice. Again, we had a party of 7 at Yachtsman, not one meal was good. We only went because we had heard such wonderful things about the food and service. My family raised beef when us kids were all growing up, so we definately know what a good cut of meat looks and tastes like, Yachtsman definately doesn't come close. Actually if you go over to your local Roadhouse, you steak will better than you get at Yachtsman..or if you really want a great steak, the absolute best place to get one on disney property is the Flying Fish, yep, you heard right, The flying fish, over at the boardwalk resort.

thanks again!
Good luck with your choices..remember food, like wine is very subjective. You need to take all reviews with a grain of salt.

Why don't you try Norman's at the Marriott/Ritz Grand Lake complex. Norman Van Akin is as genius!!!

Can't wait to read your reviews when you get back!

My husband and I went to Tchoup Chop about two weeks ago and we loved it. Wow! Beautiful place - very relaxing and laid back for such a fancy restaurant. We were there for hours too - they certainly don't rush you. It took us forever to decide on each course; the menu is diverse and outstanding. Even the cocktails were delicious! The dumpling box appetizer was a highlight and I had the Ahi Tuna which melted in my mouth. It came with some kind of berry sauce that was very unique with the tuna. Coconut creme brulee was yummy too!

Obviously, we would highly recommend Tchoup Chop!

Emeril's (kitchen table) - Excellent, this would be my No.1 pick from this list.
Tchoup Chop - Also excellent food and great decor.Artist Point - Another excellent, the Cedar Plank Salmon exceeded my expectations, which were very high after reading so much about it.
Victoria and Albert's - Never been.
Flying Fish - Never been.
Brown Derby - Never been.
Jiko - This was a huge disappointment to me. I expected a lot. Unfortunately they had run out of the entree that I wanted, so I had the Chicken. It was dry and fairly bland. That'll teach me to break my rule of not eating Chicken at restaurants. I will give it another chance though, as so many people can't be wrong, and the decor and atmosphere were amazing.
Chefs de france - Very good authentic traditional French food. I've got to disagree with Webray here, there's nothing more French than Onion Soup and Croque Monsieur for lunch in France. The dinner menu is also excellent. The duck confit was a superb dish.Bluezoo - Never been.
Yachtsmen Steakhouse - Never been.
Hoop de doo!!!! - Never been

Hope this helps a little. It may be worth giving Bistro de Paris another go too, it has always been very good when we have been.

Im a total foodie who would love to be able to afford to make these choices.
They look great! Enjoy your meals. :thumbsup2

I'm a foodie (except I like to make it myself as opposed to dining at a restaurant) and I'll go with webray - skip Brown Derby. It wasn't so much that the food was bad, it was just, well, just there. The cobb salad was so finely chopped it was mush. The steak was overdone and rubbery.

Jiko and Chefs de France were great. I would love to drag my dh back to Chefs but I don't think it will happen. He's not into French food. FOOL! Jiko on the other hand was outstanding. We both loved it (as well as our then 3 year old).

I haven't been to the other restaurants on your list. While I would love to go to V&A, dh isn't up for it. It's difficult to be a foodie married to a non-foodie!

The only ones of your list that I have been to are Tchoup Chop and Hoop Dee Doo. Tchoup Chop was DELICIOUS and beautiful. We had fabulous service both times we went. Both times I had the Hawaiin Plate (I think that is what it is called) - it had the ribs, pork and chicken I believe. Sooo good.

You don't go to Hoop Dee Doo for the food (well, we didn't). But the show was funny and we are going back this summer.

very disappointed in the reviews for Brown Derby. I was using this as my table service into see fantasmic. I am eating at California Grill also, but for the view and the kids to get a glimpse of wishes.

Now you all have me thinking

I think your choices look good although I would drop the Yachtsman and go to Schulas. I'm not an Artist Point fan. At the FF I would suggest anything cooked over that wood fired grill but NOT the snapper.

Emeril's (kitchen table) - never been
Tchoup Chop - never been

Artist Point - just went last week.......this is one of our favorite restaurants at disney.........ask for a window seat.........i suggest the buffalo it's really good. you need to order the flight of wine with dinner..........it's an amazing way to try different wines.

Victoria and Albert's - never been (nb)

Flying Fish - amazing. again, get the flight of champagn if you go with the fish.

Brown Derby - pretty good, went a long time ago.

Jiko - another one of our favories. i had my engagement dinner here and have been back several times and every time it's amazing.

Chefs de france - nb.
Bluezoo - nb.
Yachtsmen Steakhouse -nb
Hoop de doo!!!! - always a fun time.

Thank you all for your input. I have to agree with everyone that tchoup chop is amazing. It's the most consistent restaurant I have ever been to. It's unfortunate a lot of the disney restaurants are not on par. I think I'll drop the yachtsmen and brown derby. I just like to take advantage of the DDE discount. :thumbsup2 Anyway, I'll be more than happy to post my reviews when I return!

Emeril's (kitchen table)... Not been
Tchoup Chop.. Totally wonderful, great food service and setting, one of the best restruants in Orlando.
Artist Point... Very good fiood and service.
Victoria and Albert's .........Excellent food, but a notch below totally wonderful, but also a very good experience. It is very good, but it is also a little over rated.
Flying Fish Not been.
Brown Derby. Good food and service, but not outstanding.
Jiko, not good for fussy eaters.
Chefs de france Not impressed at all.
Bluezoo. Excellent.
Yachtsmen Steakhouse Not been.
Hoop de doo!!!! Don't go for the food!

Emeril's (kitchen table) - never been
Tchoup Chop - never been but on my list to try
Artist Point - very good, wonderful service and wine flight
Victoria and Albert's - never been
Flying Fish - nice but noisy
Brown Derby - 5 of us had a great lunch - never been for dinner
Jiko - one of our favorites
Chefs de france - eh - nice ambiance but nothing special
Bluezoo - cant wait to try this
Yachtsmen Steakhouse - good food but overpriced for what you get
Hoop de doo!!!! - a lot of fun but like others say, foods just ok

Emeril's Kitchen Table/Tchoup Tchoup - haven't been to either, but have been to his three New Orleans restaurants plenty of times (we're right up the road!) ... if he pulls off in Orlando what he does in N.O., you'll have a special treat on your hands.

Artist Point - had the trifecta of mushroom soup, salmon, and the berry cobbler. It's seared in my mind as one of my all-time best Disney dining experiences.

V&A - haven't been, dang it ... I love my DW, but she's way too picky, or at least thinks she is.

Flying Fish - ate here while in town on business once. Heck, yeah ... potato wrapped snapper, sitting at the food bar watching the magic in the kitchen. Loved it.

Brown Derby - whole family liked it. Try the grouper if you're a fish person. My vote for one of the three best in-park restaurants, certainly the best in the studios.

Jiko - haven't been (see DW comments, above), but have just about paid for Boma by now.

Chefs de France - Pretty good. Surprised by the quality of a steak on the most recent visit... it was tender, flavorful, the proper temp. But nothing close to outstanding.

Bistro de Paris - much more sedate and elegant than its downstairs neighbor. I sure felt underdressed, even though everyone was in theme park attire. Food was a notch above Chefs, too.

Bluezoo - *sigh* haven't been. It'll probably be just me and DD when I go.

Yachtman's Steakhouse - Better than OK, but doesn't quite stack against a Ruth's Chris or a Mortons. I haven't eaten at the local Shula's, but the one in Indianapolis was ... I think ... the best steak I've ever had. Oooh, hyperbole!

Hoop-de-Doo - for bulk loading food purposes, and including ribs and fried chicken, it's about what you'd expect. No real complaints. Not all that good, but you can have as much as you want! And, frankly, my jaws ached from laughing the last time we were there. Callous sophisticates, steer clear! :teeth:
