Food you make or eat "wrong"

Is Miracle Whip even fit for human consumption?
It's "salad dressing" which is mistaken for, and used interchangeably as, mayonnaise, probably because it's also white. It's a pretty useless condiment, IMO.

I remember as a kid my mom once made potato salad with Miracle Whip. I didn't know it, but it tasted funny and I mentioned that. She tried it, and threw the rest out. As a child of the depression, it took a lot of her to throw food out. But that was in the 1960s when Miracle Whip was cheaper than mayo. Now, it is almost twice as expensive as real mayo.

If it's any consolation, Miracle Whip isn't really food.

Mashed potato sandwiches (white bread spread with butter).

Potato chips (crisps) on buttered bread.

Fairy bread - white bread buttered topped with sprinkles (hundreds and thousands).

My nephews will put ANYTHING pretty much on a sandwich - spaghetti bolognaise / Chinese food / roast dinners / even an Australian meat pie into a buttered breadroll.

If any of you follow Courtney Cook on TikTok, I eat a lot like her. She is my comfort creator cuz things are so similar and it makes me feel seen, ha!

Nothing is out of bounds for me as far as food, as long as it is not most meat ;)

When we were kids, mybdad would put green peppers, hot dogs and bread crumbs on Spaghettios and call it Spaghettios El Grande. Why? No idea? It was gross, but it's something we still laugh about to this day.
I might be willing to try that minus the bread crumbs

Miracle Whip would not get such a bad rap if it weren't always compared to mayonnaise. It's just another condiment.
Full disclosure, never tried it due to the hate, I’d probably like it since I like most condiments (not ranch dressing though).

We don't put lettuce on our "BLTs". Instead we always use cucumbers so I guess its really a BCT!
I also leave off the lettuce normally but I add avocado. So a BTA!

My dad used to eat a sandwich with miracle whip, bologna, cheez whiz, and peanut butter.

I also like ketchup on my hot dogs which is a sin here in Chicago. Sometimes I want a Chicago dog and sometimes i want one with ketchup and cheese sauce.

My dad was the king of strange food combinations.

Mayo on jello.
Mostly uncooked bacon in his waffles (literally laying a piece of uncooked bacon in the batter before closing the waffle iron).
Ketchup on eggs (admittedly, I did that for a while too).
Worcester sauce on ham
And I'm sure there's a couple other ones I can't remember now - he would always come up with strange ways to eat things.

There are two that I can think of. One is the famous jalapeno popper dip. I use jack cheese instead of parmesan and tortilla chips instead of Fritos. The other is pecan pie. I buy the Marine Callendars frozen pie and I eat it straight from the freezer without thawing it first.

Are there any foods that you make or eat wrong?
I’m with you all the way on the frozen pecan pie!! Sooooooo good.

I use ketchup on eggs, if it's not for breakfast.
Ketchup on mac & cheese.

I put sugar on cottage cheese, as well as tomatoes when I eat them.
You also put ketchup on Mac and cheese? I had never seen or heard of anyone doing that until I saw my husband do it.

Forgot that my cousins used to eat "Twinkie weiner sandwiches." That's a hot dog in a Twinkie cut open for a bun, and squeeze cheese on top. :crazy2:

I've seen tomatoes baked on top of mac & cheese, so ketchup isn't that much of an anomaly.
