The wife & I just got back... ( Thur-Mon )

We had been down in Disney in March for our Honeymoon (lake view @ Boardwalk), and shortly after we decided we needed to hit up Food & Wine while we're still young & kidless...

The intent was to do this trip on the cheap. We booked cheap flights, rooms in Pop, 3 day tickets + MNSSHP.

What ACTUALLY ended up happening, I called roughly 24 hours before our arrival, upgraded rooms (moved us to a "standard" room at Boardwalk), at which time the agent on the line also accidentally changed our tickets to 4-days... We were spoiled to death staying at Boardwalk, and just couldn't bear having to take a bus to Epcot, MK (we walk through EC to take the monorail to MK) & Studios.

Highlights:

Magic Kingdom:
  • Did MNSSHP - Had a blast, and got to hit a majority of the rides due to lower number of people in the park.
  • The new Fantasyland was open for MNNSHP, Got to see much of the new area, ride the new Mermaid ride
  • Had an unfortunate incident where a Cast Member dropped my wife's point-and-shoot camera. That CM directed us to Guest Relations...still waiting to hear anything regarding that. It's broke... :(
  • Got to see the Cadaver-Dan's (Dapper Dan's) perform. They're spectacular as always!
  • Saw about 10 other people with my Walmart "Tuxedo-skeleton T-Shirt" on... If you have one....get a new idea... LOL
  • Rode the People Mover while the lights were on inside Space Mountain! Check out my video of the inside of Space Mountain with the lights on here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KGpGcMrJKD4

EPCOT:
  • 98% of the reason for our trip was EPCOT for Food & Wine... We also spent roughly 80% of our time in the parks here.
  • Hit many of the rides during our multiple trips to EPCOT, but largely stayed within the circle of World Showcase.
  • My favorite drink: Kona Brewing's Big Wave Golden Ale
  • The wife's favorite drink: The Dragonberry drink from the Carribean.
  • My favorite food: Swedish Meatballs
  • Wife's favorite food: The Lamb from Australia
  • Our friend's also thoroughly enjoyed F&W... Myself and the other husband of our group were the only two to hit Mission:Space after several drinks. We survived...and also had the best crash landing on mars ever. I'm writing that note to NASA...
  • We completed our Food & Wine passport (between my wife & I)
  • Somone yelled "Freebird" at the EPCOT American Adventure Fife & Drum Corps... not that I condone those actions... it was just surprising. I took video of the Fife & Drum corps here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v9bnEdGAqkQ
  • Watching a REAL Bald Eagle fly over the American Adventure while I was at EPCOT... and no, it's not a "Disney Bird" - It's 100% natural. It lives in the area...

Disney's Hollywood Studios:
  • We hit the major rides... had some fun...nothing spectacular or noteworthy here... Love the park, but it's still a 1/2 day'er on our list as long as it's not too busy.

Downtown Disney:
  • Went to Paradiso 37 -- AVOID this place. The food wasn't anything special... it was "ok" - but the service was absolutely terrible.
  • RAGLAN ROAD - The only reason we didn't eat here was that the wait time to be seated was 10min more than Paradiso 37 - We wish we waited the extra 10min. We went back for drinks later - love the place & atmosphere.
  • Raglan Road - Part 2 - I took this video of the Irish Dancers at Raglan Road (Video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JOPDCk-C4BU ) - Gives you an idea of the place & atmosphere.
  • Earl of Sandwich - We hit here on our last day - per tradition, we ALWAYS hit Earl at least once on our trip. They had the Holiday Sandwich.....NUFF SAID!
  • Pleasure Island is sad without the clubs - and the whole property was busy... I still cannot beleive they are gone.

Disney's Boardwalk Resort:
  • I love this place... This is our second stay here!
  • Big River filled my late night appetite for some beer & a chicken quesedilla!
  • The lobby bar had great service too! Longboard Ale? It's pretty good!
  • Walking Distance to EVERYWHERE... We wore our shoes out, but we only took buses going to Downtown Disney - We walked everywhere else. MK, EC, DHS - all walking distance! It's great! (MK = Walk through EC to the monorail, fyi)
  • The CM's here have been friendly on both trips here.. I'm glad we upgraded.

According to Cast Members there, it is in no way related to Disney - lives there naturally and appears quite often....

Cool stuff! I got to see the lights on in SM from the people mover last time I was there. I guess I just never realized just how much track there is.

...or how close the track is to your heads...

I can touch the ceiling in the blue flashing tunnel.... I'm sure some tall folks can hit the bars elsewhere..:wave2:
