Food & Wine Info is Up - Finally!

Having been for the first time last year, I'm already sad that we won't make it this year...but I like how they mention "tapas-sized portions"...at entree-sized prices... :)

Yay, now I can finalize our plans. Well, at least I can plan out what we want to do, then we'll see what happens when I call in to make the ressies. :goodvibes

Only $75 extra and you get a chair at the Party for the Senses.:scared1: And special cheese. And avoiding the riff-raff.

... and after all, we are the riff-raff :rotfl2:

No chair has been my biggest complaint every year (sigh) now I will just have to fork over the cash (better be good cheese)

This makes me want to rethink my not going this year! However, the extra $75 for the pleasure of actually sitting at PFTS is a bit annoying. Last year, CM's were turning people away from supposed reserved seats (which we were told was not allowed to happen) for Cat Cora's entourage...hmmm.

There's a sticky thread over on the Restaurants boards about the F & W Festival. There's a big debate going on about the extra $75 thing with PFTS. Personally, I look at it as a slap in the face. The event costs $135 as it is and the least that they could do is provide enough tables and chairs. I found that unacceptable when I attended last year. There were people actually begging cast members to allow them to sit on the edge of one of the side stages. For over $100 a head, that should never happen.

But the event was never billed as a sit-down event. The point of it was to be like a cocktail party, where guests will eat, drink, mingle. However, people do go crazy over the tables, both the low and the standing bar tables. I never had an issue if I was roaming while noshing. People at the standing tables were always accommodating if I asked them if I could temporarily set my plate down in order to take "food porn".

My biggest gripe was that the event has become oversold in recent years. I never felt it was as packed as it was in 2008. I tend to think the comps will reduce a little now that they aren't being away as part of the years of millions o' dreams.

But still, I am not attending the PFTS this year. I'm hoping to spend my bucks on a couple of the signature dining events.

I understand that, but I just can't get past the no chairs thing. I really couldn't see myself going back and forth to a table all night. It would have been nice to be able to sit once and awhile though especially at the end of the night.

I had a difficult time the one year we weren't able to snag a table, I HAD to sit down at one point and became one of those people sneaking a seat on the stage. I just can't stand that long. I don't think we'll be going this year. Although we always enjoy it - we love all the different food items.
Might be time for a year off.

Even the first year we went, when it was at Odyssey, there was some seating available.

We are going to F&W from 10/4 to 10/9 for the first time. We will miss all the PFTS and SS's since we arrive in the PM on Sunday. No biggie as PFTS isn't something we would enjoy as a couple. Deb isn't a big nosher. :)

We will be more than happy to just nosh around the kiosks of WS. What I am disappointed in is no dinners while we are there. :sad2: They completely skipped over that week for some reason. Would have loved Raglan Road.

When will the actual demo content be announced? Will it? We would probably do some of these but without knowing who and what up front it makes it hard to plan. I have been following the sticky over on the Restaurant board so hopefully there is an update there.

I've never seen the demo list posted much earlier than the start of the festival. Usually someone will scan a PDF file of the festival schedule. When things get announced, TDC Nala will update the first post (of the Festival thread on the Restaurants board) with the links to the info.

I was wondering what time do the marketplace kiosks stay open until? We are going on a day that has EMH until Midnight. I can't remember from last year.

Thanks Lori.

I so agree with you!!! I think it is terrible that there weren't enough chairs. We shared a chair when we went with John and Kevin. I understand the mix and mingle but even cocktail parties have chairs.

I wanted to see the demo with the Deen brothers this year. They changed the format and now it costs $110 per person for their dinner. Way too steep in price for me. :(
