WOW my first PTR, here goes.

The trip, a first, to the Food & Wine Festival from October 24-26.

This is our 2nd just me and mom only trip to WDW and our very first to F&W. The first me & mom only trip was in the August 1996 to CBR. My mother no longer chooses to go to WDW in the summer so typically our trips are in December as we love the decorations.

Originally we were going to stay at one of the AS resorts. We really wanted to stay at one of the Epcot Deluxe Resorts but decided a value resort is fine. Our last trip which was 4 of us in Dec 2011 we stayed at POFQ and in future we will probably stay there again when all of us go. Love the resort and the queen size beds :lmao:

Anyway we (and when I say we I mean me) decided to try something new and got a res at AoA Little Mermaid Standard Room with QS dining plan.

OK I can now post attachments so the players:

Me that's me with my niece in December 2011 behind the HOB at DTD

Mom that's her with my sis and niece in December 2009 at MK monorail station

We live in South Florida and try to plan a trip to WDW every 2 years since my niece turned 4. This was a completely hey let's go to Epcot for F&W without my niece and sister and of course Mom was on board in a hurry. I mean come on, she turned 65 last year and when we asked her what she wanted to do for her birthday she told us no party, just Disney.

The plans:

We are flying from Fort Lauderdale to Orlando arriving at approx 11:55 am and taking our first trip on ME to WDW. I have not flown to MCO since our trip in 1983 or 1984 (can't recall) when our flight back to NJ was delayed for hours and my sister and I slept on the airport floor while my father attempted to get us a flight home :) Ah memories. My poor father hated coming with us and only did so because we loved it so much, but I digress.

So the plan, arrive at AoA, check-in and if room is ready head there if not ready head to Epcot for Food & Wine (well any alcoholic beverage will do). Eventually we will head back to hotel, rest a bit and then head back over to Epcot for EMH.

2nd day - Back to Epcot during day (I love Epcot :yay:) and make my mother ride on Test Track with me  She has somehow never been and that is not acceptable. Originally we had 8:30 pm reservations at Raglan Road (OOP), but yesterday I got the brilliant idea to suggest attending MNSSHP instead (Mom loves those villains) so Raglan Road was cancelled and we are now the holders of two passes to MNSSHP which will be a first for us. We were hoping to take my niece maybe next year, but she will have to settle for some new Duffy outfits from this trip instead.

Last day :sad1: No park tickets and flight not till 5:15 so I believe we will be going to DTD for shopping and our last QS meal at Cookes of Dublin before heading ME and the airport.

no party, just Disney.

:thumbsup2

Sounds like a fun trip! We're taking a short trip just for F&W this year too. And I'm also going to pick up some outfits for my niece's Duffy bear.

(Okay, that's a lie. I don't have a niece; I'm buying outfits for my own Duffy bear.)

Trip is officially paid in full!!! Yeah. I am literally counting the days now. Just 106 to go

Ok not paid in full anymore :lmao:

Changing plans to extend an extra day...moving to POP preferred room and getting free QS dining as Little Mermaid rooms at AoA are not included in free dining. The best news, changing our flights from Friday afternoon to Saturday has cost zip, zero, zilch. Flights are actually $25.00 less per person on Southwest so YEAH :cool1:

Hi!!! And no worries, I have one too, though he is the small one that does not do costume changes as my niece calls them :rotfl2:

Fun plans. I can't believe you are flying. If we lived as close as you do, there is now way we would fly. I always make us get to the airport over 2 hours early. So if you factor in the timing of the flight, it makes for a long travel day. DH always jokes where we could be in the drive if we drove from NY.

We usually do drive but it is at least a 3 1/2 hour drive and I am usually to tired to drive home, so this time since it is just the two of us we decided to fly, as my mother won't drive on the highway and I can never drive straight through on the way home. And our flight is only 55 minutes and we live 10 minutes from the airport so time wise I think we will break even, even if we get to the airport 2 hours early, which I usually insist on :)
