Will be a "solo" on 10/11, since DH must watch football game.

Has anyone ever gone solo to a F&W Festival event? I'm considering a Food & Wine pairing or a Cheese Tasting event for that afternoon.

I don't really mind being a solo, but will I be out of place?

Anyone have any reviews of either of those (solo or not) they'd care to share?

TIA

i've done this alone for a day (f&w fest.) and didn't feel the least bit out of place. this is just the kind of event where even families split up to stand in the food kiosk line that most appeals to them, so there are lots of people not always standing/eating with somebody else.

i highly recommend the indian kiosk if they are there this year. (now i'm hungry and want to go again this year.)

:goodvibes I've done it lots of times solo, and its actually one of my favorite times to go solo. I strongly suggest doing the free wine tastings and/or cooking demos. I have met some really interesting people just standing in line. Also, once people realize you are solo, they kind of invite you to join their group. Also, you will find you have stuff in common to talk about (e.g. different types of wine, etc.).

As for the extra events, this is my first year booking these so I don't have any advice going solo. We are planning on attending the Party for the Senses, a cheese tasting (if we can get in), and going to Victoria & Albert's (my first time!!!). :thumbsup2

Go and have fun! Don't worry about going solo... you will not feel out of place at all.

I agree with the other posts. I think that's one of the better times to be solo. The weather is usually wonderful, and grazing around world showcase at your own pace is a great alternative to table and counter service options.

Hope you have a great time!

IMO WS is one of the best places in WDW to go solo. You can take it all in at your own pace and blend in while you are doing it.

You won't feel out of place at all. Enjoy!

Over on the Disney Restaurant thread, at the top in the sticky section, there is a thread dedicated to the F&W festival. I've read quite a few people that are going solo.
