Food & Wine Extravaganza! Oct 2010 PTR...including BONUS Dec 2010 PTR!

Gotta love the teens (well, not when speaking of kids, but when going to Disney, gotta love them). :dance3::dance3::dance3:

I'm a little late to the game but CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! :yay:

And yay for being in the teens! :woohoo:

Hi Kelly,
I found your PTR and am on board.

I used to be on the boards as "shebaxric" but to make a long story short, I got locked out due to non-use...:sad2: That's what happens when you have a baby. But, I'm happy that you're going for another F&W extravaganza! I need to go back and read everything, but cannot wait! I hope you remember me.:flower3:

Sorry, I would've PM'd, but I don't have enough posts yet.

OMG!!! I MISSED THE CULMINATION OF "ENGAGEMENT WATCH 2010!!" CONGRATULATIONS, WHAT A BEAUTIFUL RING!!

Your ring is beautiful!!

Congratulations!!

Thank you everyone for the kind words!

Needless to say, I'm super excited!! We're looking at late October next year because we're a little obsessed with going on this cruise: Celebrity Equinox

And I don't think we'll be doing a Disney wedding :duck:

The thing is, everyone expects it of me. And I don't want to be that predictable. Plus I'd be more concerned about what kind of time everyone else is having and I wouldn't enjoy myself. Plus, he'd tolerate it, but it's not really something he wants. So we're looking around this area and I'll do a Bachelorette Party at Disney next year :woohoo:

I don't blame ya one bit!! Disney Weddings, while beautiful, look like they could be stressful...like you said, you end up worrying about your guests, and since you are the Disney Expert, they will all be asking YOU questions, like you don't have enough going on!

We are thinking we may do a Disney Vow Renewal at some point - that is so much more low-key than the first time around!

Love the idea of a Disney Bachelorette Party!!! That will be a blast!

Disney Bachelorette Party sounds like the funnest ever! It would make a GREAT PTR -- and TR!

I think that cruise also looks amazing. I have a lot of friends who went to Italy in high school and they NEVER stop talking about it. Definitely one of those experiences that change your life.

Hmmm, is it too early to be thinking about Vow Renewals? :rotfl:

And yes, that's exactly what I'd be afraid of!

 We're thinking about doing it over Labor Day next year. My one friend (and bridesmaid) is a huge Disney fan like myself, in fact she met her fiancé while doing the Disney College Program! ...and they lived happily ever after!

There's not too much happening on the Disney front. I leave for FL on the 27th for work, so it's really only 11 days until I leave :cool1: We're attempting to pick a reception venue prior to the 27th so we can get the date in the books. Our 1st choice date has already been booked at the one place we looked at (but they have our 2nd choice) so I want to just get that booked so we don't have to worry about it while in FL.

That's a smart choice. I really think it's important to spend time together during your engagement where you're NOT worrying about the wedding (especially moreso towards the end when things start getting crazy), but you really can't book anything or make official plans without knowing your date/venue. Around what date are you looking?

Kelly,
I may have missed it, but where are you planning to get married? I know it wasn't WDW, not to be predictable, right?

Also, if it's okay, I'll post a pic of Miss Madie here. She is wonderful, BTW. She'll be three months old on Saturday and is really the joy of my life.:lovestruc We're going to take her on her first trip to the World next October. She'll be sixteen months old at that time. We've never been during the Halloween season, I'm so excited!

We're looking at the end of October, 2011. Saturdays :goodvibes

We're looking around this area (Rochester, NY.) Our families are spread out everywhere, so everyone has to travel. Figure we'll just make it easier on us and stay put!

CONGRATULATIONS! :cool1: Your ring is beautiful!
Engagements and weddings are my favorite! Please do not leave out any details of your big day. I'm one of those people married for ions, yet, still watch those Bridezilla, Four Weddings, and, Say Yes to the dress shows! :rotfl2:

My husband and I are still in the mental stages trying to get prepared to take our lil ones to WDW. We've gone prechildren a few times, loved it so much. Traveling with our kids frightens us. LOL BUT reading everyone on these boards is easing my fears slowly. Still just a joy to read and follow along. Then I saw your report about the food and wine, which is totally in our direction. :)

Just wanted to say bye. I'll check in when I'm back.

Hope you're having a wonderful time! :goodvibes

Thanks for joining in! I can't help with traveling with children, but I hope I can help with Food & Wine!!

I thought I'd play the week from today game a little differently. I leave next Monday for Florida for my work conference. I won't have internet access from Monday until Thursday afternoon, which would make the "1 week from today..." game a little lackluster. So I thought I'd start today! I pulled out the suitcase this morning if that counts for anything :rolleyes1

1 week from today...
I'll be arriving at MCO and being shuttled over to the Hilton Bonnet Creek. I might have an hour between when I get in and when the meetings start...so no Disney :sad2:

BUT! 2 weeks from today...
We'll be on the 3rd day of vacation. We'll start the morning off with breakfast at the Wave. From there we're heading over to Epcot. We don't have any meals besides breakfast planned, so this is going to be a major Food & Wine day! popcorn:: We also want to try to do the Behind the Seeds tour over at the Land pavilion. That'll probably be our first stop of the day so we can check on Soarin' FP as well!

Yay! Breakfast at the Wave sounds fantastic. It is really cool that you will at least be going down to Orlando for work well before your vacation starts, so that time will fly by sooo fast!!

We did the Behind the Seeds tour a few years ago. Definitely interesting if you're into alternative agriculture. Did I hear a rumor that they changed the Living with the Land ride? No more live person in the boats?:confused3 Or am I just in need of some coffee this morning?:surfweb:

I didn't realize The Wave even served breakfast! I am curious...gotta go check out that menu.

Sounds like a very lovely day at Epcot!

I hope so

They haven't had a live person now for quite a while. At least a couple of years.

I like tours held by Disney, but I have a black thumb, so I'm not really into agriculture. But getting to go "behind the scenes" (ok, seeds!) sounds cool to me :goodvibes

We were debating between Kouzzina & the Wave, both menus are pretty similar, but decided on the Wave. I forget why. That wasn't very helpful, was it?? :sad2:

One week from Today...
I'll still be in a meeting :guilty: But we're heading over to Universal that night (staying on Disney property...kind of anyway, and heading to Universal, I don't get it!) I guess we rented out the Super Hero part of IOA. Kinda cool.

Two weeks from Today...
This will be a rather exciting day!! We have breakfast at Crystal Palace scheduled pre-park opening! :cool1:
DisneyTrip09_14.jpg

Then the rest of the day is scheduled in the MK. My parents are planning on golfing, so it'll be just me and the fiancé. Plus, one of my friends from HS who I never get to see will also be in Orlando that week. They're planning on going to the MK on Tuesday too, so we'll get to see them! :yay: Super excited for that.
Hopefully I'll be able to get these beauties :cloud9:
DisneyTrip09_17.jpg

And then we'll finish off the night with a Wishes Dessert Party! Woot!
