That is great news about the maybe wedding and honeymoon!!! Would LOVE to read that TR! Keep us updated :lovestruc

Oh my word! That would completely turn me off to that store too! I love jewelery, but $30K FOR A RING?!?! Um...that's a down payment on a HOUSE! My ring, which I love was only $5k I believe (I can't remember exactly). It's almost a full carat with all the diamonds together. It's not too big, not too small, IMO. I've seen bigger ones I like, but mine is just perfect for me! And really, it's a ring. A material item. It's more about the love than a ring! Rings get lost, fashions change... I just don't get why people would spend so much on it. :confused3

Okay, done with that....moving on!

How did Bandit react with the kennel? I remember when I was younger we had a dog and I hated putting her in the kennel! She would get soooo sad. :sad2:

There were two rings I liked at the new store we went to, one had a center stone that was the size of the total carat weight of the other  I liked the smaller one better, the larger one looked funny on my hand, but I liked the design of that ring too.

Bandit did pretty well. He ate :thumbsup2 (the pup I had growing up would never eat in the kennel and I think that was my biggest worry! :guilty: ) He was shaking a bit when we picked him up, and the next day he kept having accidents in the house :sad2: But on the second day he was home, he was getting back to his old self :goodvibes

He learned "settle" on Thursday at his puppy class. He sits, then he lies down, then he's supposed to lie on his side. He has the order down, so tonight when we working on it, he kept going into the next step before we said it :rotfl: And he looked so proud of himself!! It was so cute!

I don't know if I could do a Disney wedding. I know it would be lovely and everything I could ever want...but I have two hang ups. The first: everyone would expect it of me! I hate to be predictable, but I kind of am  The second: I'm afraid I would be so concerned about the kind of time all my guests are having at Disney that I'll forget to enjoy it. I love prepping people to go down to Disney because I want them to love it as much as I do, and then hopefully come back and not think I'm so crazy anymore! So I'll want all my guests to fall in love with Disney and I'm not sure I could let that go to enjoy my wedding :confused3 BUT I'll totally look into it, because I know I'll always kick myself if I didn't at least look at it! And I'll totally take photos! :thumbsup2

As for the honeymoon, my boyfriend has apparently always had an obsession with Fiji. And well...twist my arm why don't you :rotfl: We're currently in love with this place: http://www.wananavu.com/index.html The question would be on when we'd get married and have time to take a honeymoon, it might be more of a delayed celebration trip than an actual honeymoon. We might just do a week long cruise so we have enough time off the next year to fly all the way to Fiji and recover from the flight. There's plenty of time to plan though, so now I just need to wait for the proposal...which will be the "go ahead." And I can stop thinking, "well we could do this...or this...or this..." and just make a decision! I'll keep everyone updated though...because hello FIJI! :lovestruc

Sorry I've been MIA lately, I've been super busy...with uh...drinking wine?? We went to a Riesling Festival this past Saturday. It was a ton of fun! Thursday I had to travel to VT for work, and my little brother had off Thursday/Friday, so he came over to visit! He just moved to extreme Northern NH, so it was a treat! The drive is supposed to take about 6 hours, and I departed a little after 2, so I was expecting to be home by 8:30 Friday night. I got home at 10! :headache: Yuck. Needless to say, I was not DIS-ing Friday!

We saw a Disney special on the Travel Channel yesterday, and we've added a bunch to our list from the Animal Kingdom. I'll eventually get around to putting together lists for that :rolleyes1 I've never done the Rafiki Planet Watch or taken the train, so that's high on my list. We also want to take our time and explore.

Disney Food Blog is holding a "FoodieFest" the first Sunday (10/3 I think) of our trip. I kind of want to go, but we have Sanaa scheduled during it and it'll be held either at Epcot or near Epcot. I don't want to re-do the schedule again because I like the way it is now...decisions...decisions...

Oh, and in other news...I've been sticking with the Weight Watchers thing, but I was kind of slacking the month of July...and the beginning of August. Shhh, don't tell anyone. The good news is that I was stuck at that 16 pound loss, I didn't gain any! So even though I slacked, it appears as though I can actually keep it off! This past week I've been paying a little bit more attention to it, and on Sunday when I stepped on the scale, it was a pound lower than the last time! FINALLY! I was so excited. So apparently I'm back on track!

Congrats on the weight loss! I'm starting to get together my lists also for exactly what we want to do each day/in each park. Whenever I see someone else's TR, or read a book/see a special about Disney, I always realize just how much I've never done.

Where around Chicago was the wedding? You might have been in my neck of the woods.

Thanks! I know what you mean! I've been well over 30 times and I'm amazed there's still things I haven't done!

It was in Naperville, IL. We pretty much just stuck around Naperville, didn't feel like dealing with traffic!

Congrats on the pound! That always feels so good. WW is such a great program. I really should get back on it, but I'm attempting to do it on my own with exercise...we'll see.

I'm glad to hear Bandit did okay! Hopefully next time will be even better with no shaking or accidents. And good job Bandit on learning a new command!!!

Typical girl.... planning the wedding and honeymoon before the proposal!!! :lmao::lmao:

I'm joking of course! :rolleyes1

So ummm when you goto Fiji, take me with you!!! That resort looks amazing!!

Don't feel bad not being on as much. You have a good excuse. SUMMER! You know how our winters are- we need to take full advantage of this nice weather! :goodvibes

We live 20 minutes from Naperville. In fact, my oldest son was there this past weekend for a bachelor party in downtown Naperville.

I've done the Rafiki planet watch thing. It's cute but I don't go out of my way to see it everytime. All I really remember of it is that their is a petting zoo and the train ride.

Congrats on the weight loss!

I've really liked WW, I haven't really felt like I'm on a "diet" which I think is why I'm succeeding. I mean, if I want Mac & Cheese, I can have Mac & Cheese. A good thing, since Mac & Cheese is my favorite thing ever.

:lmao: Shhhh... Actually, he's apparently talked with a coworker about a local winery and receptions there....without me asking him to! I swear! All on his own! So it's not just me!!

When I get stressed or bored, I like to plan trips, so I was curious today just how long of a flight it is to Fiji...lolz. It takes 2 days just to get there! :scared1: And airfare is $2500+ roundtrip. So we might go somewhere else.

I really like Naperville, it's such a nice town, especially the downtown area. My roommate used to work at the candy store :goodvibes

I just can't believe I've never done it! I know my brother and my Dad have...back when I was still in HS. I remember because I had a migraine one morning and my Mom stayed back at the condo with me and the boys went exploring.

It's OK, we've done it once, but it's not that exciting. I remember inside there were some booths where you could listen to something on headphones, but it was mobbed with kids, you know the kind who just want to get into anything they can and slap at buttons! :rotfl2: We went within the first year or two of opening so I don't remember it that well, just that it wasn't something we needed to go back and do again.

Or.....maybe we'll skip it again

Nah, we'll probably at least check it out. That way I can check it off the list!

Here are my last posts for what I want to do in the parks... Hollywood Studios and Magic Kingdom Today I thought I'd do Animal Kingdom!!

DisneyTrip09_120.jpg

I'm a little ashamed to admit, I need to use All Ears as a cheat sheet for the AK. We tend to stick to our favorites and skip over other things at AK. It's not my favorite park, but my boyfriend was really intrigued by it last time we were there. So we'll be spending a least a full day at the park.

I can tell you that I'll be skipping It's Tough to be a Bug in the tree of life. I hate 3D movies in general (I like Philharmagic and Muppetvision 4D, but neither of these have any more affects than just bubbles.) It's the poking and puffs of air that I hate. I scream in terror.

I want to do more of the trails and "off the beaten path" kind of things at AK this year. In August last year, my brother, Mom & I did the Pangani Forest Exploration Trail.

DisneyAug09220.jpg

So this year we need to do the Discovery Island Trails and the Maharajah Jungle Trek.

I've already mentioned it, but I really want to get up to Rafiki's Planet Watch.
DisneyTrip09_119.jpg

(Sadly, this is my picture...we just never made it past the sign! )

We'll probably make our way back here:
DisneyTrip09_116.jpg

My favorite show is The Festival of the Lion King, so I wouldn't want to miss that! Last October, we didn't get to see Finding Nemo: the Musical, and Finding Nemo is my boyfriend's favorite Disney movie. So we have to put that on the list, obv...
FindingNemoMusical_700x391.jpg

(stolen off the web)

We'll probably wind up doing Dinosaur
36753261.jpg

Though I don't know why I do it...it terrifies me.

And of course, Expedition Everest
DisneyAug09213.jpg

I've already promised my boyfriend I won't make him ride it again this year :littleangel: Last year I kind of, sort of, failed to mention it went backwards :rolleyes1 He wanted to kill me when we got off!

I also haven't been on the Kilimanjaro Safari in years...
42.jpg

So that's on the list too.

Finally, we'll put Mickey's Jammin Jungle Parade on the list. Ironically, this is my favorite parade!
DisneyTrip09_141.jpg

Since we're spending a whole day here, I'm hoping we'll get a chance to do it.

So I think I've covered almost the whole park  But is there anything else I'm missing that's not to be missed??

Are you one of those people who looks terrified in the Dinosaur picture? :rotfl: I love that! That's got to be one of the best ride photos in all of WDW. I don't plan on telling anyone in my group. Can't wait to see the reactions! :lmao:

I can never spend a full day in AK! I end up doing all the major attractions, the trails, one of the shows, and I'm still outta there in 3 to 4 hours! :confused3

You haven't been on the safari in years?! :scared1: That is always on my must-do list! I just love it!

Walking the trails is fun. Of course it does help if there are animals visible. Then it's not so fun. :guilty:

Dinosaur terrifies me too but I still ride it. You should do it. :thumbsup2

I've already promised my boyfriend I won't make him ride it again this year :littleangel: Last year I kind of, sort of, failed to mention it went backwards :rolleyes1 He wanted to kill me when we got off!

Can't you bribe him with a promise that you'll buy him a plush Yeti doll in the gift shop after the ride?

So I think I've covered almost the whole park  But is there anything else I'm missing that's not to be missed??

I think the only thing you didn't mention was Flights of Wonder.

Oh, and where will you be eating lunch?

I can't believe you've not done the safari in a couple of years. :scared1: This is always the second thing Mark and I do after he makes me do EE. I'll sit out with your boyfriend from EE and do It's Tough to be a Bug with him anytime! I am SO happy I don't have to do EE this year.

Your day at AK sounds like a full one (it's my 3rd favorite park).

Man, I'm with you on It's Tough To Be a Bug. I startle way too easy. But I still end up going. I sit on the edge of my seat so I don't get "stung". :)

I love the safari but only go in the mornings now. Seems that whenever I tried to go in the afternoon the animals were all napping somewhere.

What about taking the trail next to the tree of life and get some up close pics?

Do you wait for characters? Or leave those for the kids?

Scour the trail between Africa & Asia looking for Devine?

Do you mean this little guy?

I was so close on buying one... but I didn't. :confused3

Yes where???? :scratchin

I'm usually looking the other way, burying my head in who ever is next to me

I like animals, but I do the same thing at zoos that I do at art museums, "yup, that's a Zebra." (At the museum, "yup, it's a painting.") And I move along. So the safari never makes it on my "must do" list. I don't dislike it, but it's just not a priority :confused3

Right! I wanted to do Flights of Wonder last October, but it was closed for a refurb :guilty:

We have ADRs at Sanaa for lunch popcorn::

 If I bribed him with that, he'd look at me like I had two heads.

It will be full. I wouldn't be surprised if we made it back for a second day.

My Mom and I are thrill ride junkies. My Dad's afraid of heights, and my boyfriend doesn't like the "drop" on Roller Coasters.

If (ok, when) we do the safari, I think it'll be the first stop for the day.

I tried sitting on the edge of my seat, but it still gets me. Ugh I hate that attraction

Yes where???? :scratchin

I'll have to add looking for Divine. We saw her last year:
DisneyOct09-GeorgeEastman150.jpg

I've walked up to the tree before. Generally I wait with whoever wants to do it, then I just walk through the theater.

Sanaa for lunch!!! popcorn::
