Food & Wine Extravaganza! Oct 2010 PTR...including BONUS Dec 2010 PTR!

We did Beach Club when I was younger. Out of the deluxes I've stayed at WL, the Poly, GF, & BC. So still on the list is YC, Boardwalk, AKL, & Contemporary. I know my boyfriend would love to stay at the AKL, so I need to wait for him to join me :) The Contemporary doesn't do much for me. I love the YC too, but there's just something about the Boardwalk that I love. I really want to stay there!

And you should definitely persuade Grumpy to come over Labor Day! (Though if I'm being honest...I might be doing a Bachelorette party over Labor Day ;) )

Oh, and for MLK weekend, I want to stay somewhere that I haven't before. It's on my bucket list to stay at all Disney Resorts :goodvibes So it leave All Star Sports (need to spell that one out ), CBR, or POR. I'm leaning towards POR, I don't think it'll be hot enough in January for CBR :upsidedow

We've stayed at the Sports (yes, that is one you have to spell out). We've not stayed at CBR or POR. POR would be our choice if CSR were not available.

Look at you and all of your trips! So excited for you!

I think January would be a great time; we looked at going that weekend last year, but ended up going in December instead. But, I asked a lot of questions about that time period and was told it's a great time!

Thank you for spelling Sports out!!! :rotfl:

BUT we're going down for a long weekend in early February (the weekend before President's Day Weekend.) We're not doing Disney that trip though, just Universal & Harry Potter. :sad2: I don't know what I'm going to do. But if I go in January, I should start thinking about airfare now... Any suggestions? :confused3

Ditch the family in Feb. and hit Disney. ;)

Kidding! Sounds like you've made your decision already for MLK, and I would agree. January weather can be really nice!! It can also be coooooold, but cold Disney is still better than being at home. :goodvibes

Disney ticket prices are going up on Thursday! 1 Day ticket going from $79 to $82, AP going from $489 to $499...so not too bad. I seem to remember last year than the AP went up $20 :confused3 Info here

Glad it's only $10 for the AP! How did you hear Thursday? I don't see that on the link...or am I just missing it?

I think POFQ is my favorite, I just love the theming there. And the size :thumbsup2 I loved CSR too, it was just tooooo big for me. It makes me nervous that I won't like the other mods!

About that January trip :rolleyes1

I saw a tweet by Mousesavers, who linked to that info. I didn't realize that the info page didn't have the release date. Oops :upsidedow

So about that January trip :rolleyes1

One of my good friends and I have been talking for a while about going down together. We're pretty sure that Labor Day next year is what we're aiming for. She also happens to be getting married in April of 2011, and I'm in the bridal party. She lives in CT, I live in NY, her other bridesmaid is in PA, and the final one is in KY. So trying to plan her bachelorette party and bridal shower is a little complicated. She mentioned to me today that she might aim for MLK Weekend, since everyone has off. Which would mean...no Disney :guilty: (Really it's fine...she'll only get married once!! ....uh, hopefully anyway :goodvibes )

Then, when I was talking to my boyfriend about it, he said something along the lines of "...well, what if there was another wedding next year? And a honeymoon?" So I apparently should be conservative in my use of vacation days... I've mentioned how I'd love a December or fall wedding, so I guess he's assuming late 2011 would be our wedding. :confused3 If there is an engagement by the end of the year, that'd probably be how it would play out. Which would mean...that I would need to save enough days so that we'd have a week for a honeymoon. So...got all that?

Long story short: it might come down to just doing Labor Day next year.

If you thought CSR was too big, be prepared for CBR...it is bigger. I think POR is a little smaller.

I agree!!! I know there are oodles of children who love this - and if my little guy was older and interested, I would probably feel the opposite way for his sake, BUT, man! That show is LOUD and completely ruins the magic in DHS in my opinion! When we walked into DHS in December they were at the hat and just blaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaring. We couldn't even talk to each other. Ugh! I remember from back in 2006 at MK it was kinda cute and small, so it seems it's gotten bigger and bigger as the years went on. :confused3

Anyway, I'm sorry for the little ones (and their parents) that love this show, but I won't miss it! :rolleyes1
I'm with you guys too...won't miss it at all.

I say Peace OUT!

I don't care about it and my 'kid' is too small to care about it. I think that show follows me around too!:rotfl:

Ok I found your post saying you are going Dec3-5... is this still happening? I must admit I did skim.. :sad2:

Cute puppy.. BTW!

So what are you saying? Are engagement congratulations in order, or is he being a flaky guy?

Thanks for the tip :thumbsup2

Yes, I am in fact going Dec 2-5. I'm getting in very late Thursday night, and staying through Sunday :goodvibes

So what are you saying? Are engagement congratulations in order, or is he being a flaky guy?

 Sorry...he's being a bit of a flaky guy. We went looking for rings in January, with the promise that it would happen "sometime this year." At the time, I was figuring Sept/Oct/Nov, so still pretty far off (I have my fingers crossed for it to happen at Disney, but I'm not holding my breath.) In the past couple weeks, he's been talking about the actual wedding more and more, so I think we're getting closer...at the very least it's on his mind. But, still waiting for the actual proposal and engagement. Everytime he talks about the wedding, I need to remind him that before we really start to think about it, some things need to occur first :upsidedow That of course doesnt' mean that I don't think about it  ...I'm a planner and having it hanging up in the air that there's a strong possibility I'll need to plan for a honeymoon next year is driving me nuts. I want to plan my Disney trips!!! :lmao:

Eeeeeeeeeee! Now I'm even more excited for your trip!! Is it October yet?? :cheer2:

You know it's going to be on everyone's minds now, haha! But I just realized that if it does happen, I won't get to find out until I'm home from my trip since we're arriving the day you leave.

This is me right now

"Engagement Watch 2010." :lmao: That's a great name for it!!! And yes! We will be watching for whenever it happens, Disney or not! :yay:

OMG! I love that link. I need to show it to my boyfriend :rotfl: If you follow me on twitter: www.twitter.com/kat228 I can promise that I'll update there :goodvibes

We're going to a different jewelry store tomorrow night to look at rings. I guess Jared has a non-standard way to rate their diamonds and that makes him nervous. So we're going to try another local place and see if there are any there that we like. We went to one place back in January that kept showing us $15,000 rings :scared1: I'm pretty simple in jewelry, so I don't want anything flashy (the only thing I wear daily is my Mickey Mouse watch!) So when I said I wanted something more simple, she showed us a $30,000! :rotfl2: I made him happy when I said, "well I can't tell the difference." ...and I think I irritated the lady at the same time. She even asked him when he was going to buy it! And when I said, "I don't want to know." She pressed the issue! O.M.G. seriously?! :sad2:

Ring shopping! How exciting! I'll be monitoring Engagement Watch 2010.

I think that is a great idea, Brooke!!!!

:rotfl: What did I start??

In other news...
We went to my college roommate's wedding this past weekend out in the Chicago area....and I forgot my camera! Thank goodness for Facebook! We had to keep Bandit in the kennel (practice run for the week in October) and I did nothing but worry all weekend. I'm going to be one of those parents who is nervous dropping my kid off at pre-school :sad2: We bought him new treats and toys while we were away though, so we bought his love back  We flew in and out of Buffalo, I really don't like Buffalo's airport compared to Rochester's. Their parking situation is awful in comparison. But when a flight from Rochester to Chicago is over $400 and from Buffalo to Chicago is less than $200...it's a no brainer. (Seriously. $200 difference. I don't get it.)

This weekend we're going to a Riesling Festival down in Canandaigua. We went to the first one last year and it was so much fun. The Finger Lakes region of NY is one of the top 4 Riesling producers (as far as quality is concerned) in the world. They're so delicious! I'm a fan of dry Rieslings, not sweet onces  So we'll probably come home with about 5 bottles of wine

Nothing much has changed on the Disney front. Only 53 days and it can't come soon enough!!

Oh my word! That would completely turn me off to that store too! I love jewelery, but $30K FOR A RING?!?! Um...that's a down payment on a HOUSE! My ring, which I love was only $5k I believe (I can't remember exactly). It's almost a full carat with all the diamonds together. It's not too big, not too small, IMO. I've seen bigger ones I like, but mine is just perfect for me! And really, it's a ring. A material item. It's more about the love than a ring! Rings get lost, fashions change... I just don't get why people would spend so much on it. :confused3

Okay, done with that....moving on!

How did Bandit react with the kennel? I remember when I was younger we had a dog and I hated putting her in the kennel! She would get soooo sad. :sad2:
