Food vouchers on e-bay?

Since I'm from Canada and can not join connections, etc. I sometimes check out e-bay for fun just to see if I could get a half decent price on them. Can someone explain why people are paying twice as much (sometimes more) for them? I just found 4 quick and casual vouchers for 80 US dollars!!

I saw that today also. I think people don't realize the face value is $11.50 each. Plus they are paying shipping on top of that. There are few restaurants on the lists to recover $20 or more for a voucher.

I would say there are many more people that check eBay than do other research for things like this. I always wonder how many families go to Disney without even knowing about things like Priority Seatings.

Another thing is that many of these sellers misrepresent what you can order with the vouchers. I saw an auction recently where they claimed with a kid's VKL, you can order the appetizer sampler and volcano dessert at RFC.

People overpay for food vouchers for the same reason that people will bid over face value for park hopper tickets on ebay. People are just CLUELESS and they think that because its up for auction on ebay, it must be a "deal."

I purchased 12 from eBay for $180.00. $15.00 a piece without the hassle of joining and canceling a membership. I will use them at CSR where we are staying.

Since I paid $15.00 for my vouchers and it will cover all of the above. Its still a great deal for me.

Actually, when we were at the Pepper Market recently, they said that we couldn't get a side with meals like the steak because it already came with a side.

That is correct Forever42. The Vouchers actually state on them either a meal that contains a side, or a side added to a meal without one already.

I have ordered mine twice from Hotwire, and the vouchers even state the restaurants right on them where you may use them.

I checked the vouchers thread and the site which posts all the menus and have come to the conclusion that really the best deals are at the resorts (which we won't be going to). Otherwise, paying over 13.00 for them is really not saving you much then is it? I've debated over getting them for a while now and I think it's fair to say that for me, I really wouldn't be saving anything or just a few cents at the most.
